I do remember reading something about how higher GB phones had different NAND logic (for lack of a better term) and hence would(could?) bench mark faster. That would be splitting hairs though.

Edit:

I think the same applies to the iPads. You would need to search for that though ...

Apple's way of convincing the spec centered folks get the biggest/fastest :)

Apple and it's mysterious ways. :p

I wish the animations are made slightly faster on the 8 to be on par with the 7. The difference is noticeable to me each time I navigate the 7. It feels more fluid than my 8 now. At a point in time, the 8 felt what the 7 feels now.

Do you think iOS 12 will get 12.4? A year ago IOS 11.2 was released at the beginning of December. We have now March, right now and 12.2 is not official yet.

I’d say it’s unlikely. We’ll likely see iOS 12.2 at the end of March. Maybe a 12.3 beta will launch then which put its release right around WWDC in early June. Or, instead of 12.3, we see 12.2.1.

The wildcards are Apple’s rumored new subscription services - magazines / newspapers and TV: whether they will require new iOS versions (like Apple Music did) and whether they become publicly available before mid September (I.e., iOS 13).

I think we see beta 4 today and weekly for the duration. That would get us to 7 betas ahead of the March 25 "event", with beta 7 being identical to the release version (if its ok).

Thing is, I don't see a post from any of the usual outlets saying there'll be a new beta coming today. They usually post before one lands.

Plan B is that we don't see the next beta til next week and then weekly after that. Still gives 6 betas

It's been happening somewhat more frequently recently, but I'm not sure it's really in the "usually" category necessarily, at least in the sense that a release wouldn't/couldn't come out without there being some article about it ahead of time.

Is beta 3 not working well for you? What's the rush?
It’s really pretty great and I get your point (although I am having some minor memory management and crashing issues); I was mostly just hoping that we’d be on a weekly release schedule by yesterday or today.

Could be when it is publicly released in September but I wouldn't jump on the beta wagon early as it is supposedly bringing big new features to iOS.

That iOS 13 better be rock solid
If they can manage to merge the best of iOS 7 (fresh coat of paint) and iOS 12 (stability) into iOS 13, then I think it could be solid.

I mean, technically all versions of iOS have brought new features. :p
