I personally think the naming convention will have to eventually change. I don’t see there being an iOS 20, iOS 21 and so forth. At some point, it’s got to give and become something new.

Maybe something like Microsoft does, just "iOS" and things would be added from time to time...

I thought Apple's long term goal was to combine macOS and iOS? If that is the case it will most definitely change. You have to remember the macOS used to be called OS X and has since changed as well. Any new major software re-write will have a different name.

I really didn't think of it but there are some buildings that don't have a 13th floor. Some think it is unlucky.
That goes back to the Friday the 13th thing - which is in reference to the last supper in Christianity - 12 apostles and Christ.

I'll attempt to not offend and say that I don't see Apple subscribing to that. :)

AppleOS. Keep it simple.
Would only hold true if they were going to use the same OS across all of their platforms. Really don't see that ever happening (only a matter of time until CarPlay becomes an OS build of its own...especially if it becomes part and parcel of their autonomous efforts).

Do we think there will be an iOS 13, or will they go to 14?

People would burn Apple down if they don't release a new iOS this year... It would never happen, they've released a new one every year like clockwork

I hope the new beta drops today. Tired of my notifications being half cut off when viewing them from the lock screen!

I do too, to see if the Amtrak app can open without immediately crashing. Since I'm traveling by Amtrak tomorrow morning. But I suspect it will not drop today.

I think you're missing the point of the post you quoted. They would be skipping iOS 13 in terms of name, not skipping the year.

Ah ok my bad... its just a superstition thing. Thats so ridiculous that it didn't even dawn on me as a possibility sorry.
