Can I get some input.... I have my iPhone XS Max on 12.2 Beta 5. Long story short my wife and I are swapping around some phones and my new iPhone will come with whatever iOS it is out of the box. Assuming I am going to restore from iCloud, which item is my phone going to require?

1. I can update to 12.1.4 and restore with no problems?

2. I am going to need to do a basic setup on the phone, upgrade to the latest 12.2 beta, then wipe the data and do a restore like it is a fresh phone again?

Thanks!

From my experience it will be #2.

#2. If you're backup was on 12.2 beta, then you can't restore it back when the device is on 12.1.4. You'll need to update the device to 12.2 beta and then restore. You don't need to wipe the device after the update to restore.

It's a lot of time between now and September. I think there surely will be a 12.3.
But we're only 10 weeks from WWDC and the first beta of iOS 13. I think a dot 3 version would be released only if there were new features to get in people's hands before September. I just don't see that with the possible exception of something related to Apple's new video offerings (a la Apple Music and iOS 9.4)

With the event on Monday, I'm not expecting any more beta releases. My guess is they just drop the '5' and 'a' from this beta release for the public release and no further builds.
Yeah beta 5 and 6 have been flawless for me. I can't think of a single thing that needs to be fixed on my 7.

More than ready for public release in my opinion.
