So are we thinking DB4 today? And are we thinking Siri Shortcuts in it or probably not? Just wondering what your guesses are that’s all.

Yes and No.... I'm thinking siri shortcuts remain for developers only for now.

My money's on today. I really don't believe the supposed leaker from a few days ago and don't think it's going to be an 18 day gap between betas. Time will tell.

I really am hoping they at least send out more Shortcuts invites. I requested it from the dev portal the day it came out, nada yet. Hoping for something today if beta 4 comes out!

I don't think it will ever have Siri Shortcuts in it. That is supposed to be a standalone app. You might see a public beta, but I am not sold on that yet.

I agree that Siri Shortcuts will likely be a separate app at launch. If it was to be built into the OS, then I'm sure apple would have waited a while to incorporate it into this coming build. I wish they decoupled more of the inbuilt apps from the OS image and handled those via AppStore, would make updates better as you wouldn't have to wait for a new OS version to fix mail, safari etc etc

Has Apple ever released a standalone app that was not already installed on an iOS device though? Clips came with iOS 11 on new iPhones. So I do see them bypassing us needing to download it and include it automatically with iOS 12. Especially considering its one of the tentpole features of iOS 12.

does he usually have insider info? if it came from 9to5mac i assume they would've published an article
He’s usually right on the money, and makes comments like “I like the smell of beta in the afternoon” to signify that the next beta is dropping. Generally day of though, so he’s not giving a huge heads up

He knows this because Apple replies to his radars right before the release asking him to test if they are fixed I assume
