All Devices iOS 13.1 Beta 3 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

New iPhones are on a GM build for iOS 13. So if I’m correct this build is way ahead. Anyways.

It seems the Bluetooth audio bug is now random. Didn’t happen today. I think it also has to do with how recent I unplug from the charger.

Any chance you can do a short screencast illustrating this? I opened Files full screen. Then I did a CMD-Space search for Pages. Pages comes up as a search result. I tried to drag it somewhere and simultaneously click on the Cancel button next to the search bar. No dice.

FWIW I'm able to reproduce what they said. Pick up an icon from Spotlight, leave it hanging in the air and tap Cancel with another finger. As awkward as both Spotlight and home screen multitasking are with the workarounds I'm much happier that I can achieve them both some way, as they are important to me. In other respects I'm generally pretty happy with 13 overall.

Someone had reported this in beta 2. For me, though, in both beta 2 and 3 it doesn’t stay forever, it stays for about 60 seconds and then it disappears. Try waiting a bit longer and see if it goes away for you as well. Obviously this isn’t how it should work regardless.

Patience is most definitely a virtue. Thank you for this. I waited & yes after about a minute it goes. Before on early 13 betas it went much quicker , as it should I guess. I have reported.

So, PB 3 seems to have broken my location automations from shortcuts overnight. Will delete and try to re-build them and see if that makes a difference.

Nice! When it first came out it didn’t matter whether there were lyrics-I actually preferred songs that *didn’t* have lyrics so I could have that cool background. Very happy to read this.

Has anyone noticed increased eye strain with this build? I’m on a 6s, so no issues with pwm and no True Tone. I went back to 12.4.1 and the issue went away.

It seems like the brightness is turned down a little bit more.

Under PB2, the problem I saw sending non-iOS messages (taking way longer than iOS - like several seconds longer) is now exhibiting this same behavior under PB3 on my XS Max.
One liner with screenshot:
IOS to iOS - < 1 second
IOS to Android - right at 4 seconds.

Using your additional instruction I got it working! Awesome! Thanks to both of you.

Now we just need more apps that support SplitView. As I think I recall, this will be mandatory in the not too distant future.

It is weird. I got the option to update the iOS 13.1 PB beta on my iPad to beta 3. I even input my passcode to start the download. I kind of walked away expecting to come back to the loading screen. I came back in only a few minutes and my iPad (IPP 11) was back to the home screen. I never clicked Install. I don’t think it updated.

Bug, I went into messages deleted multiple images selected delete and boom, my entire thread disappeared!

this is a major bug, anyone else notice this or can test this on a test thread?

Tried on my IPP - went into a thread, selected and deleted a few messages. Messages did not crash but it would not let me leave the thread. Had to close, kill, and reopen. Will test on XS Max later ...

Same. It’s weaker and slower. My iPad and XR gets over 200mbps in the same spots in my room. It’s hardware and not iOS 13.

Exchange email is still a mess. Sometimes when I get a notification I have mail the mails have to download once I open the mail app. Sometimes they are there. Sometimes when I read them on the iPhone they do not get marked read in Outlook. I really hope they get this resolved before the final release or I'm going to have a lot of angry users.

The tv app icon got changed

This is better than the last one, I think, but I still prefer the old icon that had the TV on it. This one just doesn’t gel with the others. It has text on it, and is the only one that doesn’t have some type of symbolic glyph showing what the app does (book for Books, house for Home, etc).

Just pitching in. iPXSMax PB3. Has 3 loc based autos set up on PB 2 and they ran every time albeit with a false ‘failed to run’ alert after a successful operation.

After PB3 instal, one I have tested works. I will test out again in morning (UK time) and let you know how my other ones are.

Doesn’t work for me. Got a notification again if I want to activate the shortcut after I left my home. I think I have to report it.

Perhaps the issue is with Exchange (on 13) rather than iOS 13 itself?

Agreed, exchanged has been a mess since the issues with ActiveSync and iOS. I don't use it for native integration with exchange email any more.
