I can confirm that downloading and installing the mobiledevice.pkg WILL WORK in iTunes on macOS 10.14.6 for me, WITHOUT the need to install XCODE or MacOS 10.15.
Currently updating my iPad Pro to iPadOS 13 using the IPSW file I downloaded from a Google search. Not brave enough to try on my XS Max yet.

Quite logical since it’s been that way since WatchOS 2 or 3, at least.

I feel bad for you, but this really is why they don’t want non-developers doing this. Every beta install has a warning saying it should only be done on a developmental, not primary, device. The Watch doesn’t even allow public betas because you can’t revert.

This is one of the reasons I never rush to upgrade the software on my watch even for stable builds because if it bricks I don't live near an Apple Store.

iPhone 6S. The volume control buttons didn't do anything until a reboot. Now they do, but if I flip the mute switch I get a lovely little box slide down from the top saying mute is on, and when I turn mute off I get a lovely (ie better than the new volume slider thing on the left) volume box also sliding down from the top of the screen.

Except ... that box often stays there and then the volume controls do nothing again until it eventually goes away. I hope they ditch the left-side volume slider and keep the mute on/off top one!

What’s that new WiFi in control centre feature like.

Also can anyone confirm that in iOS 13 when you turn WiFi/Bluetooth off via control centre it actually turns off not it’s on but disconnected. Thank you

Updating my iPad now. I kinda wish I had removed my Photo Library before updating because I've been sitting at an empty progress bar for about 5 minutes now lol. For those curious, iTunes has been saying 'Verifying updated iPad software'. Just going to let it sit.

Can you post a link to the package? Perhaps mine is older.

So dumb question. Has anyone found where they put app updates in the App Store. I thought I remember someone saying they put it in with your Apple Account, but I’m not finding it

You can just grab the 4.7mb MobileDevice.pkg that was posted. Install that and then iTunes will update / restore the beta with no problems at all.

Thanks for the tip. This worked perfectly.

Been running iOS 13 for the past few hours and it has been pretty stable. Almost every app I use on a normal basis has worked without any issues. Dark mode is cool but wish it was more of a system wide setting. Doesn’t affect any third party apps so far. I do however love the calendar in dark mode!

Love the new swipe keyboard and the photos app is nice. Still use Google Photos as my any day over this though. I’m still on vacation and Florida and forgot to pack my iPad. Really interested to see what the iPad can do...

Now going to give watch OS 6 a try :)

OK. Thx. Grr! not working for me.

I'm about 90 minutes away from being able to test the theory but I saw somewhere that you have to reboot after installing the package. Just mentioning, in case you haven't tried that.

Don't know if anyone posted this yet but I' installed Catalina on my Mac first and now I can't upgrade to iOS 13... I'm downloading Xcode 11 as I type but has anyone figured out how to do it??? (PD; just the .PKG didn't help on Catalina) Thanks!!!

Duh... I should’ve known better. And my mac was a dot release behind. LOL. Trying anew... Thx.

Go into finder you’ll see your phone there. Then restore like you did in iTunes using the ipsw file.
