You really don’t see it? There’s definitely a 3D element compared to before

Well what the heck! Why put hardware in a phone for 3D Touch and then just stop supporting it? Yeah, it’s not a big deal to most but there are also people that utilize it on a daily basis, like myself.

There are definitely pros and cons with upgrading. I love the speed increase with Face ID. Seems to be the only thing I like so far.

The iPad upgrade is where I’m focused on. I’m actually excited about that. iOS 13.... meh. Lack of 3D Touch is definitely an issue with me.
My guess is that by eliminating the hardware that supports 3D Touch, Apple will save $$$ on the bill of materials for each device, hopefully allowing them to lower the prices somewhat. I also suspect that regular users of 3D Touch number less than 50% of active users, making this low hanging fruit for cost (and space) savings -- except for those (including me) that use this a lot. Still, if it contributes to taking $100 (maybe optimistic?) off the price of the phone, I'll settle for a less robust functionality here.

Does anybody know how to unpin the widgets on Springboad? I’ve decided I don’t care for them, but I don’t know to get rid of them.

Scroll to the bottom of the widgets and press the edit button. You’ll see the option to disable the widgets from there

After almost 24 hours, I'd like to ask for feedback in some areas:

Does Wi Fi drop like it did in 12.3.1 on a XS?
Does battery make a difference with Dark mode on?
Is is fast and snappy?

Have had it installed for a couple of hours on XS Max and iPad Pro 11, haven’t had any WiFi drops, battery seems same so far, definitely much faster and snappier, Safari is super quick and it seems all the animations and transitions across the OS have been sped up

Thanks for the laugh! Hah!!!

It’s not called “lower the prices,” it is called “increase the margins!”
I hear ya, but I really do think we'll see them back off the $1000 price point for the base model flagships. They've seen a big drop in upgraders, here in the US, but especially in China. Some of that is due to the longer life cycle of these phones (and OS support), but some is price inleasticity. We saw them try this out by reducing the Xr price, disguised via inflated trade in values, to $449, from its "list" price of $749. Look for more of the same with the flagships this fall.

Possibly stupid post: Where did iCloud Tabs go? Used to be below your tabs but it's not coming up for me.

Still there for me. If it's anything like prior years only devices on the iOS/iPadOS/MacOS beta will show though. I don't see my Macs tabs, which is still on Mojave.

Anyone figure out how to get AirPods to announce new messages?

I saw your message so I opened my Airpods popped one in my ear and a popup came up asking if I wanted to enable Siri Automatic Message reading.... Maybe remove the Airpods and reinstall and see what you get post pairing.

Not seeing this either but then again maybe that's because mine are original AirPods. Perhaps this is just an AirPod 2 feature?
