I am having serious LTE Calling issues. 1st or 2nd call fails. 3rd call goes through. Even receiving calls is not reliable. Phone directly shows missed call notification without ringing. My operator is Jio (India) and is VoLTE only.

What is your carrier settings number? Currently, with iOS 13 beta 2, Airtel is at 36.5.6. No idea about Jio since at my place the download speeds were best from the bottom and after 2 years of being on Jio, I switched to Airtel for my area.

My iPhone X is on 36.5.7 and on my iPad Pro 10.5” Cellular, it is on 36.5.3. Both Jio network.

Yep. No way to type anything, I’m actually annoyed about this as I use the app regularly... :( if I had known this I wouldn’t have updated to beta 2. Arghhh!!!
A workaround at the moment is the website, takes a little longer to get to but it all works.

Adam.

regarding WhatsApp I noticed that it loses connection. to have it running on the desktop you need to be connection the phone. every 30 seconds or so it loses that connection until you just bring it to front on the iPhone

Yes you can. I updated via OTA ... or are you talking about having to download beta 1 and install via computer first then OTA to beta 2 to install beta 2? If so, that’s because it’s for developers. The public beta should be out in two weeks and will be a straight iOS 12.x to OTA beta.

[EDIT] apparently upgrading via OTA works.

I know it's for devs but that never stopped me before. I just wish they didn't make it such a pain. Usually once you have beta 1 on device, you can just OTA but for 13 it wouldn't let me. Weird and annoying

Well this confirms it. This beta isn’t the reason why the XS Max WiFi drops in medium signals areas the XS Max antennas just really suck vs the XR.

Not very accurate the XR is on WiFi

Apple typically does a build each business day (based on past experience with build numbers). They released 17A5492t as beta 1. The 17 represents iOS 13 (looking at iOS 12 builds, they start at 16), ‘A’ represents X.0 (‘B’ represents X.1, etc). The 5 represents a developer beta (or a build compiled with logging tools enabled, such as extra analytics and the feedback app), the next two/three numbers represent how many times it was compiled (see above, typically at the end of each business day), and any letter at the end represents a “revision” to the build, which is typically a quick hot fix but not enough to compile a new build.

This build is 17A5508m. Let’s compare that to beta 1 (17A5492t). Subtracting 5508 and 5492 yields 16. 16 builds newer (if there’s five days in a business week, then this build was the work of the past three weeks plus one business day). Looking at the letter ‘m’, it’s the 13th letter in the alphabet. It took quality assurance 13 revisions in order for this 508 build to be deemed “stable” for public use. Obviously this is much better than a ‘t’ build. Although never proven, people tend to assume a build is more stable if there’s less revisions to it (aka ends in ‘a’, ‘b’, or ‘c’) before the quality assurance team seems it ready to be released outside of the internal teams who work in development of the software.

Interesting fact to note: remember that report from early 2018 where iOS 12 features were being pushed back to iOS 13, and that both would be developed concurrently to improve quality? Looking at the build number for beta 1, they started work about 492 business days ago from when it was compiled before WWDC, confirming that rumor that they started work on 13.0 in late 2017.

Build numbers are a pretty interesting concept. I hope this clarifies any confusion!

Thank you very much for the info! Makes much more sense to me now ;)

Exactly. The XS Max dropped WiFi. And stayed off during the test. It’s unreliable. Meanwhile the XR had no issues maintaining a connection. Even when I placed it in a low signal spot. It still gave me speeds of 30-60mbps while the XS Max kept dropping.

Xs Max:

SCREENSHOTS: can take and edit all I want but does not save to camera roll. Also cannot send anywhere from the edit app. It hangs at "preparing".

TV APP: Library>Downloaded. In Dark Mode only the preview graphic and run-time are readable. File name is in black so does not show up. I’d show a screenshot but see above :)

MUSIC APP: as others, getting the "verification code sent" window. But no code sent, nor do I have Apple Music subscription.

*** IMPORTANT ***

I have backed up WhatsApp to iCloud on iOS 13 beta 2, then restored my phone to iOS 12.3.1. When I tried to restore WhatsApp from iCloud after setting up my phone as a new iPhone, restore failed!

To people using WhatsApp on iOS 13: be aware that you will not be able to restore your WhatsApp chat that is backed up on an iOS 13 beta!

I will try iCloud Backup restore for iPhone instead of just WhatsApp restore. I will update this post about the status.

Happened to me too. Just uninstall the music app and download it again from the App Store. The pop-up won’t show again.

Does somebody successfully installed fonts already on their iPhones?

You won't be able to install fonts until they're available on the App Store. That's where fonts will be installed from. They couldn't possibly be available yet considering you can't even submit iOS 13 apps yet.

Same for me and I don’t even subscribe!
What worked for me was deleting the music app, re-downloading it from the AppStore. Haven’t had the pop up again since. Only thing I had to do was resync all my music in iTunes since erasing the app deletes the music also

Seems to be rebooting my phone much more often, or just coming up with "Unable to activate Face ID on this phone" message, which also locks you out of unlocking the phone in any manner, and the only solve is to hard reboot the phone. Saw this behavior a few times on beta 1, but it's happened 3 times just this morning alone.
I am having the FaceID issue on my iPad Pro (2018). I did not have it on beta 1 or on either beta on my Xs.

Just installed iPadOS beta 2. WOrks great so far. However, one thing is bugging me is the mouse scrolling. It is scrolling backward. When I scroll down, the screen goes up You guys think there are any fix for this? I’m using a JETech Bluetooth mouse. Thanks
This is the normal behavior on Macs. They introduced the reverse scrolling several years ago on the Mac so when you scroll it's the same direction as if it was a touch screen.
