True, but beta need to progress, not regress. Now have a boatload of issues I did not have under db2.
The lack of printing, lack of photo attachments downloading to camera roll.
Just these two basic functions should never present problems. Not like they’ve doing something new.
I’ve reported more issues in last few hours than last two weeks.
Who cares if some app compatibility has been fixed when basic UI functionality doesn’t work.

This is not correct. Apple does not have to show “progress” from Beta to Beta, as that is not the point. The point is to implement fixes and test other fixes, culminating in a final product in September. Somehow they always manage, despite the apparent zig-zagginess of the route. Fixes to one thing may break another, either intentionally or unintentionally. Part of the process and it needs to be accepted for what it is.

None? Really? Seriously? Think you need a and go chill someplace

I’ve seen reports here that the phone UI has been fixed, app compatibility addressed for some major apps. Modem updates. Attaching a photo to an email.

It might not be the most aggressive beta, but it has certainly addressed some issues.

Fret yee not. It will get there. It’s all part of the fun of being a beta tester.

Hyperbole much? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is not a “fun beta” by any stretch. Beta 3 is an unbelievable battery hog on my iPad Pro. There’s nothing “fun” about a beta that breaks the charging process when previous bets didn’t do that.

Someone else posted it perfectly—betas are a progression, not a regression.

You can buy me a beer now.

Has anybody figured out how to get rid of that phantom email line? Looks like it’s still there in beta 3 along with all of the annoying little mail bugs

Tap “Edit” in the upper right corner. Then select the blank line. It’ll crash the mail app but won’t be there when you reopen it...until you enter another mailbox, in which case it’ll show up again. It’s so annoying.

Anyone else’s notifications looks faded? The red is lighter and not as vibrant

Not entirely. Peek/pop is working in things like Safari links and photos in messages but 3D touch is still missing from home screen icons, there it's still haptic touch.

Ah. This is disappointing. Haptic touch is fine if you're not used to 3D touch but I strongly, strongly prefer 3D touch.

Hope they bring or at least give us the option to restore that functionality.

Didn’t work for me. I restarted my iPhone X and it was already turned back on. Did it again and no results. I don’t like this haptic Touch BS when we have the technology built into our phones for 3D Touch.

Agree completely. It's slower and a step back. Plus it doesn't "feel" right.

I really hope it comes back. They're slowly giving bits of function back to the user

Well it’s a good job you’re not running it on your daily driver then.

I don’t buy beers, I have them bought.

It needs to be reminded that these are DEVELOPER betas. The sole purpose is for devs to test their apps against any new API’s or other changes. It’s a branch off the main code trunk as indicated by the old build date someone posted. The public beta is just an opportunity for people to get a preview, any bugs reported are a bonus to the testing already being run in-house by the development team.

did anyone figure out what to do when it pauses the Watch update and says to connect to wifi to resume? i’ve reset my Watch twice now cause it was connected, but my iPhone was acting like it wasn’t. i had put it in Airplane Mode to stop the update because i did that first and then realized i needed to update my iPhone first. basically now it finally started updating, but it paused. now it’s saying this.

EDIT: now it’s showing the second screenshot i posted

EDIT 2: seems to be going now finally

Ok guys, I don't know what you think about this new beta, but for me it's frustrating. Biggest problem so far is using 3rd Party apps like Youtube, Instagram,... Youtube, for example, is totally unusable for me rn, it freezes all the time while scrolling or scrubbing thru a video. System performance is better than on previous build, but still some new bugs within Camera app and other.

it’s not gonna be perfect, it’s a developer beta and everyone’s mileage varies. third party apps haven’t been updated so things are gonna break. it takes a while for everything to calm down after any update

Of course, not that I didn't know that. Some of our company Apps are now also having massive bugs that didn't appeared before. But there where no significant changes to Frameworks and APIs in this update (some APIs now finally deprecated), so runtime problems with 3rd Apps are now mainly caused to some bugs within the internal frameworks. (Within UI frameworks no changes in this build would explain Instagram going crazy on this Beta)

Makes hope for a quick 4th Beta.

I noticed that up until now they have not updated the Settings. Like for example searching for an accessibility, it will show you the menu wherein you still have to go the General settings to go to Accessibility.

Holy moly this beta is absolutely abysmal. I see what everyone means by the nerfed responsiveness. Everything feels really weird, scrolling especially. Thinking about downgrading to beta 2 somehow

So high Key-Mono lighting effect is officially an A12 exclusive? Like really apple?

What is a key-mono lightning effect?

Edit: I did google it. I don’t understand it well but it refers to something involved in portrait mode

But is it A12 exclusive. Even if it is Air 3 and Mini 5 won’t get this I’m sure because they don’t have portrait mode

Never judge battery life by the first few hours on a beta. Ever.

Anyone think even a simple change like removing the top break would make the App Store user page look cleaner? Example:

Feels like divider city. But I’ll admit I’m just extremely picky at times :p
