it only appears if you have the "update" notification though, which i never seem to get without manually checking for updates. a shortcut straight to the update tab is a good change.
The "Updates" option is there all the time, whether there's any available app updates or not. I even unchecked automatic downloads in Settings > iTunes and App Stores > "Apps" and "Apps Updates."

You broke the app

Got a couple of problems with beta 4 on my iPhone 7. Please bear with me if some of these have been mentioned before...

1. Mail App: Everytime i get a new mail, the notification shows and the icon changes to show the number of emails arrived, but when i open the mail app, it doesnt display the emails. I have to force close the app and then when i reopen the mails are there.

2. Random issues connecting and downloading mail from yahoo and gmail. The mail app keeps saying "error connecting to account". When i force close and reopen, it connects and downloads the mail just fine.

3. MAJOR BLUETOOTH BATTERY DRAIN: When i switch bluetooth on, the phone gets nice and hot and battery gets killed in under 90 minutes from 100% full. (This is a new battery showing 100% capacity replaced by apple care three weeks ago). When i switch bluetooth off from settings, the battery life goes back to normal. Downloaded StatusLite and it shows processor at 80-100% with BT on and 5-15% with BT off. Just toggling BT off from notification centre doesnt make a difference. BT needs to be toggled off from within settings. The phone is unusable (and potentially dangerously overheating) with the BT on. With it off its excellent battery and completely normal behaviour. Very wierd. Tried resetting Network Settings ( i have about 10-12 BT devices paired, not connected but paired), no change. The only device its always connected to is my Fitbit, (some other devices are paired to my phone, but havent been connected to in ages). Anyone else have this problem?

I have reported all of these using the feedback app.

Before I dive back in the beta, can anyone confirm if there’s still the issue with LTE not connecting after hitting dead spots?
Yes, beta 4 worked flawlessly today with releasing WiFi and picking up LTE and vice versa.

It’s been great on my iPhone X. Only issue is not being able to open new tabs in safari when clicking on a link. Other than that, no issues at all
Tap the link with 2 fingers and it will open in a new tab

YouTube videos displaying a black screen but can hear audio. Guess it’s a YouTube app update issue

I had a period of slow data on cellular even when I have 3-4 bars. I realized it when it was taking longer than normal to load pictures on Yelp. Turning on and off airplane mode did not fix it until I had to toggle from LTE>4G>LTE.

I've been running iOS 13 since beta 1 on my iPad (I know; it's technically iPadOS now.) The current beta seems relatively smooth on it during my usage. So, I'm considering putting it on my XR too.

Before I do, I have to be "that guy" and ask those running the beta on their phone: are there any major bugs with incoming / outgoing texts or phone calls? If so, I can wait patiently until the GM in September.

it’s interesting that the context menu from “Haptic Touch” doesn’t have to be closed first like 3D Touch did. i guess because no Peek and Pop and having to hold your finger to the screen. also from the Accessibility settings, it seems that they are still acting like there is a difference between the two and that both are implemented. i could just be misreading the wording though

i haven’t had any issues since the initial jump when the first public beta dropped. and even that was only iCloud iMessage sync kicking in, but it did just fine like the next day and haven’t had any issues since

Yes. Most incoming calls on my phone go straight to to voicemail.

Is this still happening on this version?

That would be frustrating. It’s been erratic for me on PB1 and PB2, but I’ve only just upgraded and was hoping this had been resolved.

I just don't understand, why are the notification bubbles so washed out AGAIN!? I was previously on iOS 13 B3 then downgraded back to 12.4 then back to 13 B3, the notification bubbles were nice and red.... Now I made the jump from 13 B3 to B4 and the notification bubbles are freaking washed out again..... This bugs the hell out of me!

FYI - I have a plain, black background and I’m not experiencing this issue.

Running iOS 13 beta since beta 1 and now beta 4 on an iPhone XS with no issues whatsoever with texts or phone calls. Only issue is the minor app update glitch mentioned earlier but not a showstopper since update usually completes on the second attempt. Otherwise a very smooth and fast performing beta.

No, not happening on my iPhone XS at all. I'm on T-Mobile by the way.

Extremely disappointed that Apple News is still a disjointed mess in Dark Mode with only the initial screens Dark and all articles in White.

Beginning to think Apple intend to release it like this, but hoping I’m wrong.

1 & 2: Join the club. Known issues.
3: My battery drained unusually fast immediately following installing dev beta 4, but has since returned to normal behavior. I'd try your Bluetooth test again and see if you get different results.

Small tip but could be less practical to open in a new tab in Safari: tap the link with two fingers.

(this is not new)

Is this an iPad gesture?

Can’t seem to get it to work on my XR.

Unless I’m, “holding it wrong” of course ;)

Smart Invert - which worked fine on PB1 remains broken for me on PB3.

It won’t toggle off, requiring a hard reset.

Anyone else experiencing this on this version?

No problems here on my XR or iPP 11.

I REALLY DON’T GET WHY A WEBSITE HAS TO HAVE A DARK MODE VERSION. IT’S A WEB DEVELOPER’S PREROGATIVE ON HOW OR WHAT THEIR WEBSITE WILL LOOK LIKE.

It seems Apple currently agrees with you having left it in the hands of individual Developers as to whether a website displays in Dark Mode or not in Safari (which will no doubt mean most won’t).

I’m personally saddened by this as I believe, “Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder” and wanted system-wide Dark Mode to mean exactly that.
