Something else I noticed is the battery drain. My iPhone 7 is draining the battery badly after the upgrade to iOS 13. I usually never complain about new iOS releases but this one has been bad at least for me.

battery issues and scrolling through the apps home screen has frame drops looks ugly really.

also when selecting mail messages it has a delay in Highlighting the messages and in scrolling the messages.

Overall I’m not happy with this release if I knew any better I would not have upgraded!!

One thing i have noticed is that the colours are washed out on the X. This happened last year with IOS 12 but got fixed eventually. anyone else notice this?

Mail app doesn't update. I get alerts on lock screen, but when I look at mail app icon there's no notification icon and when I open the app, there's no mail and I have to refresh.

Yup. Did your 7 get real hot too with light usage? I dropped back to 12.4.1 after 1 day.

I installed iOS 13 yesterday afternoon on my Xs. My big observation so far is that much of the streaming audio volume level coming out of the phone is subtantially lower than before, I have to turn the volume all the way up to be able to hear it. This is over multiple apps.

I’m just curious how long the indexing takes.... my photos app still says “leave device locked and connected to power” after a full nights sleep and the progress bar is only about a 1/5th loaded.

messages app also has a message that more things will be available after indexing is finished. Maybe after tonight it will be done?

Hi

Did you ever resolve this?

Got the same on an iPhone 8 taking ages, but completed quite quick on my SE

I have a couple questions about Screen Time on iOS 13:

(a) Can you set a LONG Screen Time passcode? In iOS 12, the passcode can only be 4 characters. The Screen Time passcode is different from the main phone password.

(b) When you run out of time and get the "one more minute" prompt, can you keep hitting it once per minute?

Weirdly specific questions I know. I'm asking here because I don't yet have an iPhone, and this could make the difference in deciding whether to get an iPhone which supports iOS 13. Thanks!

Links to Twitter in iMessage are no longer opening in Twitter. Instead they're opening in Safari. From what I understand this is a Twitter issue?

Twitter shouldn't have any control over whether you phone opens a URL in Safari or sends it to the Twitter app. So it sounds like an iOS or iMessage issue -- maybe there is some setting for it.

Keyboard buttons barely depress at all when responding to a text message from the lock screen. How does this get through before release?

By accident I discovered that swiping right with two fingers in a Messages list starts to highlight the messages for deletion. Quicker than long press and "more".

There's also three finger "open" and "close" gestures (hard to explain! move your 3 fingers apart or bring them closer together) to copy and paste text.

These are on a 6S, so the 3-finger thing is kind of tricky on such a small screen but I've just about got the hang of it. I suppose there's loads of these "hidden" (i.e. stuff-I-didn't-know-about) gestures.

That's standard iOS 13 :) 13.1 is better.

Hi, I also noticed washed out colors. For example, in the first picture a screenshot of the wallpaper after restarting the phone, and the next picture after a few hours, the red colors are not so vivid, they are washed out.

As a data point, I don't believe I'm seeing this on my Xs. What I am seeing though, is that if I shut down on low brightness, then restart the phone, after the Apple logo boot screen, the lock screen comes up and starts out at some medium brightness and gradually slinks down to the low setting I had it at when I shut the phone down. Probably not a bug, just a change from iOS 12, which I don't think did that.

I ended up reporting this same thing. In my case, I’m using a picture I took which is “mission critical” (I duplicated the original photo), then turned the saturation way up on the duplicate. Stuffed it in my hidden album.

Seems to compensate effectively as a good work around.

I noticed a bug when trying to copy/paste a website address on the iPhone 8 Plus after update. Could not edit address before copy/paste and then copy/paste of website address did not copy or paste either.

It’s just me or since I update to iOS 13 and WatchOS 6 both my phone and Watch will make a sound and my phone screen will show up when receiving notifications? Very annoying.

mob and also the today’s temperature isn’t showing on the lockscreen in mornings.

Also, what is the new customization system settings in location category? There's new options but I don't know what they are.

Hi,
I actually discovered the moment when the colors become washed out. This happens after changing the wallpaper to a different one than the one currently displayed. This is clearly seen with the wallpaper saturated in red. The restart of the phone restores the vivid colors.

Wallpaper colors maintain correct saturation provided you do not change the wallpaper to a new one in Settings -> Choose a New Wallpaper.

Unfortunately, I also see it in version 13.1 beta 4, which I installed yesterday.

With ios13 I'm getting interference on my Powerbeats Pros when typing. Which isn't great :)
