What and why?

No fix for 13.2 rendering Safari (and for many, multitasking in general) almost unusable. Given that people were reporting these issues throughout the beta period, it seems likely that this update was pushed out because of the AirPods Pro launch and not because it was anything like ready.

I’m not often prompted to comment, but this is the single worst update I’ve encountered since it was deemed a good idea to launch iOS 4 on iPhone 3G.

So what would you prefer then? They rush out an update that completely screws everything, or hopefully given time, one that actually sorts out the problems? And also you, along with the rest of us, have absolutely no idea how serious or deep-rooted this issue is. I’m not defending Apple but we’ve got to have a little bit of common sense and patience here unfortunately.

I would add, however, that if the next update doesn’t resolve these issues then Spple really do deserve a major smackdown.

And looking on the bright side, if Apple don’t come up with the goods, we can always go to android

Rush out an update because of new devices, Apple TV, Apple Arcade and the AirPods = Sure
Rush out an update for bugfixes = no way

And yes. There are still the Androids, but I don't really trust Google, so we are stuck with Apple. :)

How about not rushing out 13.2 with such a monumental issue? The AirPods aren’t going to rot if they’re not surprise launched for another week or two.

As I say, I’m not defending them one bit. But we just have to wait and be patient… We have no choice. My only nagging feeling is, or question rather, will we have to wait till iOS 14 to get a lot of these issues fixed? But that’s another story entirely I suppose. And for a different thread.

Let us look at it from the perspective of a general user, not into development.
I dont notice any major hue and cry in the common public nor is the media crying hoarse. If its only "US" specialists who are worried with poor quality while the average consumer is not seriously perturbed then we are wasting our time in expecting apple to do something drastic.
For the general consumer, new features are more important and hence are the selling point to maintain sales figures. Our technical rants will not achieve anything.
Dont have to justify that our cries are most relevant and important. Its just that the technical perspective is hardly relevant in this situation.

I would strongly advise against going to Android if bugs and lack of updates bother you this much. Android tends to be way buggier than iOS.... The only difference is that with Android you end up waiting months before getting an update sometimes.

Well, come on, I know it's crazy to expect that they were going to be able to fix this in a day or two, but really the point is that these things should never have been let loose into the wild at all. They rushed 13, and did it badly, when they should have just waited.

And yeah, the pessimist in me fears that it will take until 14, next September, to fix 13. Bah.

I have downgraded to iOS 13.1.3 and wow. I forgot how good it was. And I think we have learned something. Better to wait for updates than downloading them after the release.

My only problems with iOS 13 so far is safari reloading like crazy and my photos within iMessage are taking forever to “index”. When these 2 problems are solved I’ll be a happy camper. Dark mode is awesome. Apps do noticeably launch faster. I went straight from 12.4.1 to 13.2. Battery life is exactly the same on my 7 also. They really got to get ahold of this ram management issue though. Hopefully Monday we see 13.2.2!

My iPad Pro 2018 keeps reloading apps. This is borderline unusable. They should have worked overnight and got a hotfix out on Friday itself. Even on my iPhone when I unlock it, so many apps keep reloading. This really necessitates an emergency patch.

I think we will get iOS 13.2.1 next week (Monday or Tuesday), like someone said who caught it in GA.
