Well with the MacOS 10.14.6 beta that was released yesterday, this changes everything. They always push a MacOS update around the same time iOS/WatchOS/TvOS ship. Since they seeded another beta for MacOS, obviously they need at least another week of testing MacOS. I would think MacOS 10.14.6 is required for Apple Card because you are asked to setup Apple Pay on Touch-ID Macs during the setup process. Some client-side software is required.

I say Apple Card launches next week with 12.4. iOS 13 beta 4 today, and us beta testers on iOS 13 will be able to start to use Apple Card starting with beta 5.

This makes sense to me. I also found it odd that they released the MacOS update on its own.... Not even tvOS or WatchOS. I think your reasoning gives a plausible explanation for it. Although I am little bit skeptical about beta 13 testers getting access to the card first to be honest, but you never know.

I also think seeing as the settings password access bug in beta 3 is making its rounds in the media that is going to be patched this week in a beta 4 ASAP as its a pretty major security hole to leave much longer and get public attention.

It's fairly minor considering the phone has to be already unlocked with your face for the bug to happen. It's not leaking data.

Of course Ive said the same. I meant more that Apple doesnt like negative media attention on bugs for too long.
Which on the other hand could lead to a delay of the next beta release a few days since Apple wants to distribute a solid fix.

Apple have known about that bug since early last week, can’t see it delaying Beta 4. The guy who discovered it reported it via the feedback app and directly to Apple themselves (who told him to keep quiet about it which was hilarious because it was already plastered over reddit.

If we do get something today, it is most likely at the new release time of 10:30-10:45 PST.

I wonder why they changed their standard release time lately?

Looks like it isn’t here for 6pm UK time. Man I hope they don’t delay it for another week. Surely they should know how unstable it’s been...
