I'm so confused why they pushed a new 14.2 last night to then release this today? 🤷‍♂️
I was on 14.2 already but installed the new one anyway because, as everybody knows, newer is better
I took half an hour, then my iPhone restarted, just on Time to see a mail from macrumors saying « Apple seeds 14.2.1 » 😓
It's safe to assume that the revised version of 14.2 is included in this one?
I share your confusion..... this is the update I imagined instead of a second version of 14.2.
Starting to think or at least wonder if they meant to release it all as iOS 14.2.1 but something happened somewhere (perhaps some build/packaging/installer issue or oversight) and it got pushed out as a new version of iOS 14.2 initially which was then "fixed" and actually released as iOS 14.2.1.

14.2.1 has a build 10 ahead of last nights 14.2 release so doesn’t seem likely it was an accident

At the same time the updated iOS 14.2 build that was released just last night was 19 builds ahead of the original iOS 14.2 release, which seems rather odd too.

and the solution of the problem of the messages in the old iphone when? do we have to wait a month for ios 14.3? This deal by apple does not seem fair to me ...

This is ridiculous. Green screens, lot of bugs and lot of updates on iOS... In the past this never happens.. last 3-4 years iOS is a joke, come on. And lens flare on main camera still sucks.

SMS messages are still not syncing the read status from iPhone to iPad. iMessages sync correctly but SMS messages that are read on iPhone still show as unread on iPad.

Bugs and a variety of screen inconsistencies that some would encounter have pretty much always been around.

Messages app seems so laggy on my iPhone 12 still compared to my older devices. Much more smoother on my 10.5 ipad pro. Tried restore, resetting, etc all the snake oil tricks.

So does this fixed the missing texts and iMessage or not?
No, I got a notification for imessage and was able to read it in the notification but when I clicked through to the app it was not there.
