My other half finally updated her Mini 5 to 14.2
Maybe that was an oops? The iPad is asking her to reverify passwords for iCloud, App Store, any linked accounts, Outlook, Gmail, etc....
Yeah, she is getting (actually already is) a bit upset.

Sounds like that's probably iOS 14.2 since 14.2.1 was only for iPhone 12 models.

Guys, I've spotted an odd bug with my iP11 - when I get an incoming call, I sometimes don't have the swipe to answer option. Instead I get the button option only. But sometimes I get the swipe to answer.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I've experienced the same thing and actually recently posted about it in the iOS 14.2 thread (since iOS 14.2.1 is only for iPhone 12):

I've just replied to your post.

A strange one. There's a new beta out today. Hopefully it'll resolve this issue.

I've noticed two bugs on iPhone 8 running 14.2 that didn't exist in 14.1 for me:

1) text message lag - there is a 2-4 second delay before the text I type appears.

2) Siri suggestions is FUBAR'd regardless of settings, rebooting, deleting the app.... the same set of Siri suggested apps appear: App store, Tips, Reminders, Mail. I actually deleted Tips and turned off Siri search suggestions for all these. Rebooting, turning on/off settings for respective apps and Siri does nothing to abate this.

What ticks me off is that iOS 14.1 enabled automatic OS and App updates without asking me, and so this all happened without my consent. I may do a restore to a previous iOS.
Bad Apple, bad.

Restore to what previous IOS? Nothing prior to 14.2 is signed by Apple.

Found a bug, if I go into accessibility - sound recognition it crashes to the Home Screen even after a restore

On an iPhone 12 mini with the latest iOS and my iMessage app will randomly start crashing when I open certain conversations. It's so strange and I'm not sure what's triggering it. Once someone sends a new message to the chat, the conversation stops crashing. So annoying. It's happened in multiple conversations.

Many of us have been seeing odd issues with Messages both for 14.2, 14.2.1, and 14.3 betas.
File a bug report if you haven’t already.
Luck.

Just updated my HomePod mini to 14.2.1 and now I’m having problems. I’d like to see if anyone can reproduce my issue:

While the HomePod is playing music, use the Music app to remove the next song from the queue. The Music app should immediately crash and from there on will most likely crash whenever you try to use it.

EDIT: this may only occur when playing your custom radio station. My apologies - I’m still trying to troubleshoot this issue and figure out exactly what’s happening.

EDIT 2: this definitely seems specific to my custom Apple Music station, but the problem is intermittent. Sometimes it works properly, and sometimes it massively crashes the Music app. So far things seem fine when playing music through a source other than the HomePod mini.

If anyone could try this, I’d appreciate it:

• Play your custom Music station through the HomePod mini

• Open the queue (it’ll only show you one song at a time as opposed to a large list of songs)

• Try deleting the next song in the queue and see what happens.

Please try doing this a handful of times because sometimes it works fine and sometimes it crashes the Music app. Once the app is crashed, it continues to crash every time it’s reopened. I had a few crashes so severe that my phone locked up and needed a hard reboot.

12 Mini,

if I swipe to the AppLibrary I get an alphabetical list of all Apps, there’s a search box at the top of the screen with a flashing cursor. If I tap in the search box there’s no keyboard so I can’t enter search text

Happened to me once and a reboot fixed it. Hasn't come back since.

Anyone experienced 'SystemMemoryResets' on 14.2.1? After charging my iPhone 12 overnight, I noticed all my apps had reloaded, so I navigated to Analytics and saw a 'SystemMemoryReset' event logged. Should I be concerned, or is it just iOS RAM management at play? Thank you

Anyone else having problems taking a screen shot on 14.2.1? Sometimes it works fine and other times the phone will just hang and freeze. (iPhone 12 pro)

badges not shown on app icon? and notification for some apps not working. any solutions?

One thing I never understood is, why Apple decided to hide Text marking under the tiny „...“ and Not just add a pencil icon in the overview? I m certain X amount of people don’t even know it exists. It also adds unnecessary steps to scribble on an image
