Just showed up on Apple Beta Software Telegram Channel - if it's true, what does the mean for us testers that have installed that firmware?

It’s true. I was in the middle of wiping and reinstalling 14.2 when I encountered this. Probably means nothing for those who still have it. Depends on why they pulled it I suppose

Marco Arment was complaining about this. I wonder why they changed it in a point release.
Everyone can complain as much as they want. If people find the missing information useful - they can submit a feedback. Personally, I don’t think that the length of the song is important. I’m loving the new UI and the suggestion the user is getting when not listening to anything.

When it comes to the point release, I guess that they’ve prioritise the Music features they wanted to have implemented for the launch and have left less important ones for point releases, so that they can focus on less features at a time. It can also be something they’ve decided to change during the beta period, either internally or based on feedbacks. If that’s the case, it makes sense to leave the change for a future release. Only Apple knows, but with iOS 14 we’ve seen many changes related to Music and I’m happy they keep on improving it.

It is integrated. Quick toggle to start listening and will display result after a few seconds. If you tap on the result, it will launch Shazam app if you have it. Otherwise, it will direct you to Shazam.com of the song name through Safari.

I don't understand this move. Why not open the title in Apple music if Shazam is not installed?

Opened weather from the widget, and it shows blank information for that location. Other locations are loading though, can't figure out how to make it refresh the location I had in the widget.

Has anyone else lost their iMessage shortcuts since installing the latest beta? Mine only gives me the option for a new message now. 11 pro.

Edit: shortcuts came back today. Odd.

They probably will push a new beta 1 out soon or they’ll just release beta 2 this week.

In the release notes it says about the 8th Gen iPad not being supported in B1 and will be added next week, which implies we might get B2 on Tuesday.....

might be because the oxymetric stuff was left out in this beta

Nope, otherwise they'd pull it for all iPhones. The build we have for B1 was obviously an older build on a different fork to iOS 14 GM, which is not surprising, as they had to fork at some point early on due to avoiding any references to iPhone 12 devices in the 14.0 code.

There was probably something serious that caused them to pull it, curious as to what though.

It was probably meant to be in 14.0, but due to them having to get it out earlier for the watches, it ended up in 14.2 (or we might see it in 14.1 if that comes to all devices, rather than just the new iPhones).

14.1/14.2 are going to be the true 14.0 release, but due to all the fun this year, that didn't happen.

OK, this is very puzzling. Downloaded 14.2 beta 1 on iPhone 11. it downloaded last night and got the "Unable to verify iOS 14.2 Developer Beta failed verification because you are no longer connected to the internet"

Messed around with that for about an hour and then just turned the phone off.

Turned it on this morning and had the badge that I had an iOS update. Went into settings and there was no update available. I checked the general/about and it indicated that i had the latest release installed (18A373). I removed the developer beta profile, rebooted and then redownloaded the beta profile and then the iOS 14.2 developer beta. Rebooted and then checked for iOS updates....showed none was available.

I have no idea what is up with this.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks! Perplexed in Barberton!

It’s not supported your device in 14.2 release

Never posted here regarding any of the betas, so sorry if this is the wrong place. Updated my iPad Pro to 14.2 last night, and now I can no longer use the arrow keys on my iPad Magic Keyboard to change the page in the Kindle app. The keys still work just fine in a text field within the app, just not to turn the page. The app hasn’t been updated in 3 weeks, and it was working before the 14.2 update. I tried restarting the app, and the iPad, no change. Sent feedback. Anyone else?

How is everyone’s battery life? Mine was better it’s so so on my xs max

Only been on iOS 14.2 for a day but already seems better than iOS 14.0. Still worse than iOS 13 though.

2 hours of usage down to 75% (excluding the 50 mins on charger).

the screen sensivity / not registering touch is really frustrating. at times it feels like you're using one of those old school Palm Pilots. You have to tap things several time for it to register and sometimes it doesnt even do anything without locking/unlocking the phone. looking forward to the next beta.

Me too. Screen not responsive especially on the top right area - like screen down for Control Center, it s stuck. :( I’m on iP 11 ProMax.

I know this is iOS rather than iPad OS but I’m curious if any other iPad users have had charging issues with 14.2? i have iPad Pro 11 3rd gen. I’ve found that the original charger and usb-c cable is not working currently yet was working before the update. I know this could be coincidence but I’ve seen others mention this on Reddit too. its charging with aftermarket charger but it takes 4 or 5 seconds to actually acknowledge the charger.
