I'm looking to come off the Public Beta and have installed this latest version, am i correct in thinking that as it'll probably be released generally soon its not a bad place to remove the beta profile and then update as and when official new versions are released?
Yes. Remove the beta profile and reboot. Then released firmware will come down automatically but no more betas.

Hey guys. I've been running iOS 14.2 RC for a few days now and so far everything runs great - mostly. There is one little issue I want you guys to confirm. I have optimized battery charging for my AirPods Pro enabled and tried to disable it in the pop-up window for a day. The moment I press "Turn off until tomorrow" the screen freezes. It happens every time. It works fine on my iPad Pro though.

Long story short: Open AirPods Case -> wait till pop-up window shows up -> press "Turn off until tomorrow" -> freeze

With iCloud Drive (at least with Photos app and Files app) has something changed with this release candidate or with Apple iCloud servers in general in last day or 2 that require device to directly connect/use amazonaws and googleapis to upload to iCloud (possibly download as well)?

I know Apple uses other services/servers to help with iCloud load, but until this i just saw Apple controlled addresses to upload and download. Thought help was more storage and server help after uploaded without decide connecting & directly usage 3rd party apis.

On one device i actually use a content blocker to block googleapis & amazonaws device wide which is why seeing it blocked so often past couple of days was strange. I tried to narrow down apps in background or in use when these are trying to connect and blocked, and both seem tied to Photos and Files iCloud usage & usually uploads from this device to store on iCloud. Since I have never had a problem like this while limiting these servers on this device for most of 2020 and happening soon after installing 14.2 i wondered if it may be that and/or Apple trying to ease servers with usage during election, always happened but just hidden by Apple in past iOS versions (maybe similar to Little Snitch noticing on MacOS certain Apple apps could hide contacts to servers or not be blocked or something like that), or an update to a app or something else has gone rogue with its activity that is harder to pinpoint since what i use doesn’t list what app is attempting connections.

I'm still having the keyboard issue in the Messages app: With my iPad Pro 11in 2018 connects to the Apple Smart Keyboard, the on screen keyboard keeps appearing and causing the text field to "drop down" over and over and over.. Hard to explain without a video, and I'm not including a video here with any sensitive info in it.. When my iPad's not connected to the keyboard, I use the one handed style on screen keyboard. Not sure if the "dropping down" part is related to that as when I use the regular full screen keyboard, it just comes up on screen and doesn't go away.

For @Ansath ;)

Testing Mail. 11ProMax
iCloud account, GMail account, Exchange (Outlook) account.
Except for the Exchange, I frequently have to manually refresh Mail to pull in the iCloud and Gmail emails.

Been that way for pretty much all of 14.
I would definitely try removing each account and deleting the Mail app, reboot, reinstall and re-setup the mail accounts. I've got the same style accounts setup (iCloud, outlook.com, a Yahoo Account, 3 Gmail accounts, & an IMAP account), and was having those same issues. This resolved it for me. So much so that I'm able to rely on the Mail Watch app, too.

Did 14.2. finally fix the annoying Watch app bug (it crashes immediately after opening) so I can use and connect my Series 6 watch again? The only official solution from Apple is to make an iOS restauration, delete the Apple Watch app and reinstall it. Many other users have the same issue.

Since updating my 2020 iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard to 14.2 I noticed the Delete key no longer works in Mail.

Anyone else?
I've seen this, too. It's almost as if returning to the Mail app doesn't have focus on the inbox (and then the last email you were on). I'm still able to delete an email with the delete key if I start Mail from scratch.

How do you do that? If I force close Mail and go back in it still doesn't work for me.

I'm on 14.2 (18B91) keyboard still having major issues in the Messages app.
Never before had this happen with any Apple betas. Only 14.x.

Went ahead and tried that. PITA as the Exchange account is via my work 😖

Now on 14.2 and actually have more issues. (New issue, the sum of unread is < the actual sum of the individual accounts unread).

Wow. I’m stumped man. I was really hoping that’d fix it for you, seeing you’ve had this issue for a while. I think going back to the iOS 13 betas?

from what I can gather from going thru my own issues, any delay in total count could be caused by one specific account slowing up the whole process. I had a folder with a rule setup but for whatever reason that rule wasn’t running and I wasn’t catching it. Mainly due to the fact that it was a folder that got a lot of stuff I needed to keep but didn’t really need to see. I wish I could help more. Maybe try going thru that same process again, but adding one account at a time? Maybe start with the exchange account and give it a day or so if you can. Then add one account at a time and go from there until the issue appears again.

I did the full uninstall and reinstall in 13 (it helped a bit) and in 14 (no help at all).
Take a look at my latest entry in 14.2 (https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...hanges-and-improvements.2265644/post-29203261) for a new Mail issue (IPP)

It seems that as I change the types and numbers of accounts, new issues seem to go away and others come to fore.
Frustrating.
