Volume control sound is not working. I have the option Control with buttons over Settings/Sound and haptics, but having sound in 50%, when, for instance, going into Instagram and ear a video, after adjusting the volume in that app, after leaving the app, sound will stay where I leave it on Instagram. Same with any other app. The didn’t happens in 14.2.

Yeah, there's weird stuff going on with volume. I've logged a Feedback.

Sometimes my alerts are really loud, and sometimes silent. Doesn't seem to matter what either of the volumes (ringer/alert or media/speaker) are set to.

Sometimes, adjusting the ringer using the buttons has a thin volume slider come in from the left of the screen, where the media playback thicker volume bar should be, rather than from the top. It's all over the place. Or, as Apple would say: IT"S ALL OVER THE place

My guess, given the device and its age plus the app ) Chrome, a known memory hog), is that you are running into memory limitations.
Hm... Good theory.

I tried force closing all apps and only opening Chrome but it still fails.

Other high memory usage apps like streaming Youtube seems to yield no problem.

I guess I will see whether Beta 3 will fix my problem when it comes out.

12 Pro Max - db2
3rd time this issue has shown up today.
Badge shows unread emails. Go into Mail, read all unread emails. However I am left with an Unread = 1. I manually refresh, I go directly into All Unread and count still = 1.
A hard reboot fixes the issue. Still this has occurred 3x today.

Reported via Feedback.

Same accounts on IPP 11 did not exhibit this.

Mail has been broken since iOS 13, unfortunately. I don't see a fix on the horizon. It's insane to me that a company the size and scope of Apple still can't get mail to work properly.

12PM with FaceID and >6 digit passcode

For both FaceID and Passcode the screen unlocks to Home pretty much instantaneously for me.
try locking your phone. wait 1 minute and than keying in your passcode. after typing the last digit, does the phone pause a second before unlocking?

One thing that’s really been bugging me is the swipe up gesture. A quick swipe from the bottom brings up multitasking rather than taking me to the home screen. I’d say it happns about 75% of the time.

12 Mini.

I am apparently able to do it first pass. I import them from Photos as DNG and can do a couple of basic
12 ProMax and LR loks to work so far.
Here is a quick snap I dumped into LR, turned into B&W and saved to photos as DNG

It will be a few days before I really start getting into editing RAWs ...

hello, do you still find the location displayed at the top of the photo?

i am not sure if it is a bug to iOS 14. I recalled the location of the photo was displayed at the too for every photos, after I upgraded to 14.2, I reckoned only date and time were displayed. The geotag were captured correctly as the location map was displayed at the bottom.

Googled and found people reported similar issues that only photos taken after iOS upgrade lost the display of location at the top, while those taken before iOS upgrade still showing the location.

my case is I lost the display of location for all photos.

Do you experience the same?

Both my prior photos and current photos, took one just now 12ProMax, have the location top center screen of photo. Prior photo was a transfer from a 11 ProMax shot last Jan. I will check the 11 ProMax later. Both are on db2.
I usually have location turned off unless I specifically decide to enable it.

many tks.

after reading your reply, I just checked Photo again and just now the location displayed at the top.

weird. I swear that there was no location info at the top of the photos before.

is it really a feature dependent on Apple server that people complained about server failure?

update: just checked again. Though the location info is displayed, the info of a few photos is wrong, inconsistent with that shown in the map at the bottom of photos.

Now I gotta go look 😖

Update: Looked at a handful of photos from my 12PM, a handful from my 11PM, and had my daughter send me a few from her 7Plus.

All but one from the 11PM matched header to map. The one that did not match was way off.
Photo was taken at Ragged Point California on the PCH yet showed a map location of Camarillo California.
No idea why.
