I believe this problem began before the 14.5 betas. I’m using iOS 14.4.2 on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I selected 2.5x lens with either stock Camera app or ProCam 8 and took photos of the same object indoors with incandescent lighting. ProCam used f/2.2 lens but Camera used f/1.6 lens.

Lens selection - yes. however it was for low light situations (using f1.6 zoom instead of f2.2). What has been happening is the lens selection is now going for the f1.6 zoom in moderate light instead of f2.2 also. On top of that many of us are seeing less fine detail than we used to in previous builds. A softening of the picture.

Yep - ProCam, ProCamera, and Halide all have no issue with selecting the correct lens for 2.5x. 👍

Since beta 7 the Setting "Call Blocking & Identification" is being disabled every couple of days or so. This morning was now the fourth instance of this feature being disabled. Not turned off. It literally is not in settings. has been working fine through all 14.5 betas till now.

I use Hiya and have to go back through the app to turn this feature on.

Feedback reported.
I've been seeing the same issue since B5 with Verizon Call Filter and Wideprotect. Could have started before B5 but I don't remember at this point.
The app won't show up at all in the setting->call blocking & identification screen. I can make it show up by toggling the app's settings. This is how I've been fixing it. Of course, when you reboot the device, the app disappears again from the setting screen. I don't know if blocking is still working or not and if this is just a settings screen issue.

Re OEM

No it doesn't. It usually indicates a replacement part made by an original 3rd party manufacturer to original specs, generally independent from the auto manufacturer. "Genuine" parts are usually those available from the auto company service department that are identical to the parts from the production line. NOS or "New Old Stock" are usually unsold discontinued "genuine" parts, no longer carried in the current inventory.
Actually it’s Original Equipment Manufacturer... totally 1st party company. It’s synonymous with genuine😉 It could be made by a third party FOR the OEM, but that’s the same thing if they outsourced

According to Hiya, when this happens any call blocking / filtering provided by Hiya is turned off.

Have you considered that the (relatively insignificant in the grand scheme of things) preparation time is NOT the reason for smaller install packages? Bandwidth and data caps come to mind…
If using WiFi then bandwidth and data caps are not even relevant for any of these updates as the connection method / size does not change the timeframe for "preparing" the update. "Preparing" is after the download has completed, not before. Yet still it takes way too long on any of the latest devices. So back to square one - how can a 300mb update and a 3GB update still take the same amount of time while "preparing" no matter the device or system or connection method? It might be a binary update but usually larger files take longer, so again an iPhone / MacBook Pro / Ipad Air / iPad Pro all take around the same time to "prepare" an update despite the file sizes being drastically different.

I’m not entirely sure what it’s doing to prepare. I would normally assume unpacking is the majority of the time which would agree with your theory. But, consider Apple’s penchant for control. It’s possible it’s performing a byte by byte validation check against your device. If that’s the case, then regardless of the package size, it’ll take the same time to check your device🤷🏻‍♂️

Hands off is no longer working for me across devices at all. All my my devices: iPhone 12 Pro, iPad Pro, and MBP M1, are all on current beta and have Handoff enabled. I’m having to save pages to my Reading List in order to get to them on my other devices. Also, My MBP is showing a HUGE list of “open tabs” open my iPhone that I just don’t have open at all, showing I’ve got 34 open tabs on my iPhone. I do not. My MBP also says I’ve got 3 tabs open on my iPad, and I do not. Both my iPhone and iPad show that I have one specific tab open on my MBP, and I do noT.

I’ve filed Feedback for this (FB9052808), and the “Resolution” here says, “Investigation Complete - unable to diagnose with current information”, but at no point has anyone replied to ANY of my open Feedback since before iOS 14 even began the beta cycle last Summer. At least I’m able to copy/paste across devices. Isn’t that also part of Handoff?

Is it possible the lens selection algorithm for the stock Camera app is based solely on exposure time? For the test I referred to earlier where I selected 2.5x on my iPhone 12 Pro Max:
Camera app f/1.6 1/60 sec
ProCam app f/2.2 1/40 sec

I have something similar going on for a while now. My mbp isn’t on a beta, it’s running Big Sur 11.2.3. My iPhone on iOS 14.5 B7 (this has been present in the previous betas as well) shows that I have one specific tab open on my MacBook but there isn’t one. I try to close it by swiping right on it but it reappears again.

I would strongly suggest filing Feedback with Apple, and maybe even include a link to your post about it. Whatever it is that's causing this issue, doesn't seem like many if any that are having this issue are reporting it.

I had the iCloud tabs issue when I first updated to b7 but it was my iPhone showing tons of open tabs on from my Mac and iPad. I would manually close them all but the same tabs would come back after a little time. I finally managed to clear it by signing out of iCloud on all my devices and signing back in. Haven't had the problem since.

As for handoff, that was still working for me but signing out and back in to iCloud should fix it.

Signing out/back into my MBP is gonna be a no go for now. As soon as you sign out of iCloud, ALL of your local files that would be in your Cloud Folders gets either removed or downloaded. I've done this before on a stable release and it caused more issues than it helped. I'm planning on reinstalling iOS/iPadOS/macOS when 14.5 and 11.3 are released anyway. Hopefully everything will get resolved at that point.

Thanks @gwang73 and @Pro_the_legend! If both of you had reported this to Apple, that'd mean 3 of the "less than 10" people it says in my filed Feedback would be here in this post. lol

I currently have nothing BT connected to my iPP yet look at the iCON for YouTube. SDeeing the same for Spectrum TV.

You may want to go into your settings and disable bluetooth access to YouTube app. All the apps you do not need to use Bluetooth with, for that matter.

I probably should have added a bit more detail.
I see this if I have last used my Air Pods Pro or BT speaker with the app. Even if I stop using the BT device the little badge remains. If I open SpectrumTV, the YouTube badge will go away and will reappear on the3 SpectrumTV app I am using with my APP or BT Speaker.
Have not seen this before B7.
