iOS 14.6 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

While iMessages previews are still working (they were broken for a bit in the 14.5 beta cycle) Twitter and Instagram link previews aren’t showing up correctly in 14.6

Not sure if this is something that the developers need to fix or Apple needs to fix, but links end up looking like this:

I have a 3rd Party Magsafe Charger which is not charging anymore after 14.6 Beta 1. It worked flawless before. It still shows the Magsafe Charging Animation but it's obviously loosing battery power instead of gaining.

My Apple Magsafe Charger still works fine. Charging by Cable works fine anyway.

Maybe they are preparing something to charge other devices by the iphone? Like the Airpods or so?

only issue I had was HBO Max stopped working for a day, but now it's back to normal.

Being that this is affecting both Twitter and Instagram link previews, are we thinking that this is an issue on Apple’s end?

I know they were fiddling with broken iMessage previews in the 14.5 betas…maybe they ended up breaking something related to that in 14.6?

EDIT: just had a Spotify link go wonky. This is definitely on Apple’s end. Another weird thing is that link previews will appear correct when you first send them, but force quitting and reopening the Messages app will cause the previews that you sent earlier to appear incorrectly. Weird.

My Anker MagSafe-like charger works fine. 12PM on 14.6b1

The link previews are not working for YouTube and YouTube music.

Is everyone else having issues with iMessage link previews? For me, the links aren’t showing up correctly for many of the links that I send as well as receive. They aren’t *always* screwed up, but most of the time they are.

I thought this would be a bigger deal in this thread, so I’m asking to make sure that it isn’t just me experiencing this. It’s a pretty bad situation if you do a lot of messaging.

Home Theatre Mode is pretty broken. Can't play anything else on HomePods when they are selected as defaults, and UI sounds disappear sometimes. This was still the case on 14.5RC1 though.

Doing fine here. iPhone Remote app loads my MacBook Air music library quickly. Both on 14.6 beta.

IPP 11 2020

Noticed when backing up photos via Files to a mSD card (dongle) it is taking a lot longer for iPadOS to copy the files over.

247 files and already at the 20 minute mark.
Normally expect 10-15 minutes for 200-300 photos.

I restored the phone to factory settings and re-downloaded everything and set it all up from scratch and my previews still aren’t working correctly.

When I copy a YouTube link and paste in iMessages, it only shows the link and not the preview.
If that's the same as you are referring to, count me in the list of those troubled.

I am getting only the url types in the text box of iMessage. I am not getting any photo/ preview.
Screenshot is attached as I am seeing. I have typed www.youtube.com, and it is not showing any image/ preview of YouTube website.

Can you list the external sources that work or don't? Then I can try. I've sent articles with complete success, and a couple of Twitter links in the past few days that did work.

This same link is working fine for me (looking how it should look) on iPhone 8. Have you been able to narrow it down to devices or maybe this is happening randomly?
