Anyone have any guesses on whether or not the iOS 15 betas will come out before this beta cycle ends? Debating if I want to jump onto this one or if I want to hop off the beta train until the summer...

Almost certainly this version (iOS 14.6) will be released by or before June 4, the last business day before WWDC 2021 starts and iOS 15 DP1 is released.

I'd like to apologize on their behalf for not appreciating you like we should.

In years past, Apple might have stopped right at 14.5. But in this new age of interative feature releases, I see this trend of constant beta releases being the norm for some time to come.

there is a public beta for 14.6? Or still closed for developers?

There will be. Might be a week later normally after the Devs. But as the builds get further down the line it’s next day and then same day as we get to the RC. (Release Candidate) that’s the official release build, just given to us a week before the joe public so they give it a name to sound special. Previously was called the GM. (Gold Master) which I thought sounded better.

you can at your own risk, I do it, download a Devs profile instead of the public one of you can wait. betaprofiles.com/

Doesn‘t have to. Not the first time they either release brand new betas or updates after WWDC.

It only happens if you leave the app drawer on in messages. The black bar is simply the app drawer loading and it temporarily makes the whole bottom of the message thread UI black for a split second. If you just always hide the app drawer, it never happens.
I always have my app drawer hidden and still get the glitch constantly.

for the ones that where saying that 14.5 would be the last update to IOS 14 well ....

I told you so I told you so I told you so that this would not be the last update too IOS 14
Wait, why would anyone think that? iOS 14 will still be updated until at least September. There will be 5 more months of iOS 14 development and releases....

What’s the modem firmware for a 12? Maybe they’ve finally made my provider better. I’m sick and tired of Verizon. Since I’ve gotten this phone, they’ve been garbage. I had a Verizon USB modem today that I plugged into a laptop and did a google speedtest. I got about 17 down and 9 up. I ran the exact same speedtest at the exact same time with my 12 Pro and got about 2 down and 6 up. My iPhone X, I swear, worked a lot better. Meanwhile my boss has a 12 Pro Max and did a speedtest and got 180 down and I didn’t pay attention to his up. He’s on AT&T.
I'm also on Verizon and also having disappointing results. For one thing, Verizon 5G is a joke, it is no faster than LTE and sometimes slower, when I'm in areas with 5G coverage. One reason I bought a 12 Pro Max was for the Qualcomm modem; the Intel modem in my 11 Pro had so-so cellular data performance. But the Qualcomm is only a little faster on up and way slower on down.

So like you, I'm hoping some of this can be fixed with a modem update, and this newest beta has a modem update.

But I'm not holding my breath. None of the modem updates in iOS versions since last November have improved things for me. Hopefully they've improved connectivity for other Verizon users, or people on other carriers.

Yes, but of diminishing significance. Look at 14.6, for example…seems to be mostly bug fixes. Come June 7th thIs iOS 14 area of the forums will become a virtual ghost town. There’ll be a few embittered souls remaining here posting about disappearing whatzits and lemon-tinted bladgets, but most of the action, like the bulk of the Apple internal dev team, will move to iOS 15.

For those on tvOS 14.6 where HBO Max is not working, I found that rebooting my Apple TV fixed it.
Woo! They definitely fixed it server side. No reboot needed here. Probably rebooted 5 times between last night and today and it didn’t fix it. Now working fine.

There’s a search button in the top right of the iPhone Storage screen in Settings. You can search and go directly to any app without having to scroll through the list to find it. Don’t remember ever seeing that before.

I am debating on re-joining the beta program, but with 14.5 coming out on Wednesday (most likely), I'm not sure it's worth the trouble.

I read somewhere that Apple made it easier to switch from beta to non beta without uninstalling the beta profile.

Tuesday more likely.
