Is it just me or are my HomePod and AirPods (Pro) sounding kinda better than ever on these newest betas? I realize the AirPods themselves didn't necessarily just update but the OSes (in this case iOS and watchOS) from which they're playing did. While listening on my walk earlier today the generally next-level sonics of A. G. Cook's excellent album Apple struck me as particularly crunchy, textured, bold and clear—almost like getting of whiff of that rumored (and hopefully soon upcoming) Apple Music Hi-Fi tier.

Also I've got the feeling others have seen this dialogue on earlier software versions but this is the first time I'm getting a message after having had them for some time regarding the AirPods and optimized charging—perhaps a sign the batteries are beginning to degrade noticeably?

I just took your advice, and now it’s back to normal, thanks!

Not sure this will last, we’ll see.
Should last as long as you don’t restart your phone, ran 2 more Geekbench test, scores are still normal.

Are those of you speaking about throttling: are you basing this on benchmark results or actual degradation of performance?
I hade actual performance issues also, but I downgraded to 14.5 and its all good now

Benchmark for me. Before beta 3, when my multi score was crap, didn’t really notice a huge dip in performance, now that my scores are back to normal on 14.6 beta 3, haven’t noticed a huge difference in performance either. 🤷‍♂️😂

It is nice to have the numbers up high again 😂

Not on the beta (yet), but performance was actually degraded for me earlier along with lowest scores I've seen. Before today I couldn't notice a difference outside of Geekbench.

I use a CMS called Lodgify to manage my new villa rentals.

since they changed their backend SSL on 27th April my site (or any other they host on their cms) don’t work on iOS 14.6

can anyone see why this would happen?

exampleVisit my site https://www.heroesvacationhome.com

the site is missing css and the design is messed up on iOS 14.6 B1/B2/B3 but works fine on iOS 14.5

same on iPad with beta too

It is normal if there are processes running in the background. You can enable airplane mode to disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and run it again up to 3x to get an average score.

Yeah I know buddy. It was highlighting that my phones not throttled as some people are finding on these betas.

12hrs later benchmark scores back to normal and looking ok. Speed is consistent and I’m not being throttled on my 12 (but understand this is happening to unique users)

hardly anything in it. 9.25am was with airplane mode on. 8:57am was WiFi + Bluetooth on, all apps closed out for both.

I always run tests in “everyday mode” with functions on like WiFi and bluetooth all apps closed. As they might be buggy and effect speed, so good to see that change or if the score goes up, it’s a good sign the iOS is getting faster as you would be using it in your everyday.

It’s just a guide right. (I know you know this) Bet as aren’t the official release so anything can happen, just nice to see we ‘might’ be heading in quicker, snappier direction with a final launch. 🤞🏼

Firmware 1.71.00 on my 12, for me, or they have tweaked the Mail app, but first thing when you wake the phone up, and I went into Mail, it would take 2-3 mins to update or get a connection possibly. It’s been instant so far on B3 🥳. Positive sign, maybe!
