Im on a 12 Pro but made the leap to RC. Have had much better battery life and performance.
The issue is that even if you're only listening to music downloaded/synced to your phone, the Music app apparently still refreshes radio feeds from Apple Music on launch, and that seems to have been what was causing the crash, based on the ID of the thread that was crashing from the logs I posted earlier:
Sometimes when you open a conversation thread in the Messages app, the bottom of the screen appears like this for half a second:
As opposed to:
Oh wow. That’s really noticeable. I was under the impression it was just the “iMessage” text missing.
How do you reproduce this?
I’ve just witnessed it for the first time ever. And it’s only on one contact (i.e. one particular message list): a new one created today. All my other messages seem fine.
And I would say nine times out of 10 when I press this particular message I see the slight delay.
Basically just keep exiting and entering text conversations and wait until it happens. Seems fairly random.
I drive 25 minutes home with Waze and iHeartRadio running, via wireless CarPlay. I'm not sure how much I typically lose but it's definitely not as bad as 10%.
'Updated' to 14.6 RC via iTunes and my phone has been able to remain at 100% 2 hours after disconnected from power, a drastic improvement vs when I updated via OTA
reduce motion, prefer cross fade transitions and the display settings in accessibility are worth having a play with to see if it stops.

FIX: use WhatsApp
Wish Apple would let us use Signal the right way instead of crippling it. Would make a great replacement for Messages.
My use of Telegram has definitely increased.
just gets annoying when you have WhatsApp, telegram, iMessage… all these message apps. Someone needs to come up with one message app that combine all message apps in one. Call it Pigeon.
Yeah but's that's provoking it really, isn't it? The "normal" user won't notice this at all I guess....
After updating to 14.6 I’ve noticed that Apple Store is riddled with language and localization bugs.
For example I’m in Ireland, and while scrolling through store, prices and languages are mixed up.
I’m seeing prices in euros, UK sterling pounds, Chinese RMV and language, French language…🤦🏻♂️Like what the actual f***?!
Disclaimer: Language is set to English obviously and region is Ireland.
