Based on everything I just said, it is a crippled, inferior implementation of widgets and it's very late to the game. Is that better?

So are you trying to say that things can be improved and adjusted, which has something to it? Or simply that Android has done it differently which can be better for some people -- which is all fine but is basically neither here nor there for those who are using iOS devices?

I've already been to Android, and I'm on Apple right now. But thank you for giving me permission.

Just look how many years it took Apple to finally copy Android and separate the home screen from the app library.

why can't I get the calendar widget to show me upcoming events? I've set it "Mirror Calendar App" and my calendar is in agenda view. But all the widget shows me is "no more events today".

Do you actually have any events for today? It won't show ones further in the future, apart from in the evening when it should show one for tomorrow. If you do have events today, click on ithe widget, wait for Calendar to open, and then hope the widget works out that things have changed and lists the events.

Do note that there's a long-running bug that any current event is deleted from the widget after 15 minutes, however long it is.

if it's unable to show future events then it's nearly useless, and the mirror function doesn't actually mirror. There should be an agenda view, just like in the app.

That is a big improvement although the smallest calendar widget remains limited to today only right? Also the current limitation in the calendar middle and bigger sized widgets also lacks some smart way of doing things to use all the space to e.g. show today, tomorrow and the next day in the...

Does it look like such a complicated idea that something need to be copied here and that it took years? Short answer is no. Apple chose to not implement it until now because they had other priorities. Very simple to understand.

We get it: you’re unhappy.

I think most people would tell you that Apple products are generally easier to use than comparable Android-based products (Android has other strengths for other users), so I don’t think you’re correct there.

As someone else pointed out, there are better agenda displaying widget products than Calendar. Fantastical has a great one that I use. Try some out and maybe that will help.

I really don’t get this “feature.” It’s just another Home Screen with my apps organized far more haphazardly than my own folders. Like Mail goes with banking apps? Google translate, stocks, and kindle all go together? Really? This is supposed to help me? And yes, I know people will say “just...

Just don't swipe over there. Big deal. You want an option to turn it off? Sure. I don't care. I love app library. Now my home screen isn't cluttered with crap I don't use on the daily.

I disagree. I think most people understand that Apple likes to make headstrong decisions and stubbornly sticks to them, even though they can be obviously terrible ideas. (butterfly keyboards ?)

In the mobile segment, it's a close race. Android does some things a lot better than Apple. That's why Apple copied them eventually. But it took a long time because Apple is rigid like that. Apple 'experience' comes first. Logic and common sense come second.

This place is full of fanatics who get butt hurt, ready to defend everything Apple does, whenever you have anything critical to say.

A couple of things:

First of all, for all of it's warts, Apple is significantly more proactive when it comes to security and personal privacy (and their respect and protection of same). Unlike the competition, who makes the bulk of their revenue by prying into your personal stuff and targeting ads at you for the trouble.

Secondly, Apple has reasons for their decisions, just like everyone else. Some of the time, that makes sense to you, and other times it doesn't. They are true to their guiding principles, regardless of what the masses think or say.

Finally, yeah, this is a computer forum whose basis for existence is the discussion of Apple products. Of course there will be "fanatics" here. Just like the Windows forums and Android forums are full of their "fanatics". It kind of goes with the territory. At the very least, that should not come as a shock to anyone.

This may be new, but if battery is around 20% and a i'm on a call, there is a yellow dot next to battery status.. Is this is just an indicator showing battery is low ? because "Low power on" is not turned on.. I already checked that.

the dot is there no matter if your power is low.

It's the indicator when the microphone is being used.
