I haven't seen a badge on the App Store in a while - probably before iOS 13. But I also have automatic App Updates turned on (Settings > App Store > (Automatic Updates) > App Updates [ON].

I still get the blue and orange dots next to apps on my home screen - blue to indicate that I have not opened an app since it was updated, and orange to indicate that the app is a TestFlight version.

Same here.

Pre IOS14 I used to get a badge indication of any app update but not since update.
Is this correct or am I missing a setting somewhere? Anyone know?
Turn off “app updates” via settings—App Store, worked for me. Tends to update if on charge overnight & if you scroll to refresh update apps list via App store

Sorry if this isn’t new information but you can initiate Apple Business Chat (where supported) by tapping on the phone number and it brings up this: C0FADFA6-96F1-4C4B-8918-0469BCDD57A4.jpeg

This version of iOS is very interesting. I really like it now that I got a phone that runs it.

After 15 pages, hundreds of replies, nobody adds those little things to the main wiki post. :(

There seems to be no point to create a wiki post if this is what’s happening.

Am guessing already mentioned, but the Messages app can now reply to an older message; just tapping the old message - sorta like threaded messaging. It then puts a small copy of the message you’re replying to with a link to yours. Only seems to work with ios14 to 14.

Wow! This is like major to me! Don’t know why noone talked about this!

This sounds interesting, but I'm not sure I understand... Can you explain what you mean by "an older message"?

Presumably means the in line replies thing. You can press and hold a message from someone in a group chat for example, choose Reply and then it highlights which message you are replying to.

Add the Sky Sports Football Score Centre app in the UK to the list of apps that are pasting from the clipboard without a user doing the pasting, seen it do it a few times.

tried to report it via the in app feedback but not 100% sure it’s gone through

One thing I noticed was they are putting the app on the audio thing you are listening to on the lock screen. I actually like that change, except I wish they had actually spelled it out instead of putting the app on the cover art. Either that or put it in the right hand bottom corner. It kinda looks weird over the artwork like that.

the new widgets are a failure. Where is a widget for my email messages? My SMS messages? And why are they so small? Android is still light years ahead in this department.

New widgets can be of different sizes. As far as what apps offer them, that's ultimately on the developer (in case of widgets for Mail or Messages app, seems like that's something that Apple would need to make available).

But they didn't. You see my point.

Only half the screen? why not more?

If you compare the state of iOS widgets (only just released with much hoopla) to what 'droid has had for many years, I am massively disappointed with it.

Half a screen is a fairly large size for a widget. Perhaps there might be some use for sizes even larger than that, but it certainly doesn't make what's available now "so small".

As for Apple not having widgets for Mail or Messages, it's unclear why that is the case so far, and isn't that great for some who might use those. Perhaps Apple will make them available at some point. That said, it doesn't make widgets a failure based on Apple not providing some new widgets for some of their apps, considering widgets are available for all kinds of apps.

Widgets haven't been just released as they've been part of iOS for years. New style of widgets have been released which can be placed in more places and look differently compared to the older ones.

So you want widgets that take up the full screen and can do more. Boy have I got news for you...
Yes, on my home screen where I can quickly swipe between them. Just like Android has had for a long time.

Perhaps there might be some use for sizes even larger than that
Not perhaps. I positively have a use.

Finally. Just like Android has had for a long time.

Based on everything I just said, it is a crippled, inferior implementation of widgets and it's very late to the game. Is that better?
