In Messages, does anyone find the swipe right to "pin contact" annoying? It should be to "mark as read," Pin Contact should be with a hard press.
Mine is a hard press to pin. Swipe is hide alerts and delete.

edit: Oops, need to swipe the other way

Hard press? Is that different to a long press?

iPhone 11: Long press on message offers Pin as first option. Long press on the icon to the left (icon/pic of the person who the message conversation is with) offers various calling options.

It might be the same, I think I just called it the wrong thing. I just like how it used to be, you swipe right and can mark it as read, like in the emails. Unless I am using it wrong, I would think you would only "pin" selected important people, like your wife, your sancha, etc...maybe unpin and re-pin selectively, but I would think those convos would be fine just rising to the top of the most recent...

Can’t believe we don’t have a messages widget
Wow, you are really into widgets. Messages widgets, notifications widgets, music widgets...

I thing the best way to think about widgets (iOS 14-style) is to surface useful information from apps that exceeds what a notification can show. Notifications work for messages, because they (the messages) are discrete.

I have to say I REALLY REALLY hate how to set the time now. I never get it on my first try like if I want to set an alarm for 7 am it always becomes 00:07 and I am like whaaaat

The one feature that really stands out is the incoming call notification. iOS 14 allows you just see a small bar of notification as opposed to the entire screen being hogged by it. So you could be watching a video on YouTube and the incoming call notification doesn’t block it. I think this one is by far my favorite feature in iOS 14.

YES this has saved me some headache a few times already. Definitely one of my favorite new features.

yeah

Does anyone know if Apple will allow 3rd party widgets?

Or widgets you can interactive with other than pressing to open? Ie, a Twitter widget you can scroll through without opening the app?
