Is video still locked to H.264/HEIC only? I hope Apple adds full QT support if the goal is making these as competent as a Mac at some point.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet... I seem to be able to listen to websites like YouTube in the background (at least on iPadOS 14). Not a tab, a whole backgrounded Safari window. This works using any other app and also on the home screen. I’m pretty sure this was not possible previously.

It was always possible in Home Screen and Lock Screen (only the audio in background, no PIP)

I don't think that's right, is it? Since the old brown YouTube "TV" icon, I don't think it has worked on the lock screen, home screen, OR in the background... until a few iOS updates later in which they offered the ability if you subscribed to their service. I thought, anyway...

I was originally referring to YouTube in Safari ...

Pleasant surprise, XS has "Zoom" view in B3, the option which was missing since its launch. But, it requires lot of fine tuning.

I like the new feature where you can double or triple tap the back of the iPhone to start an action
It's nice. I have set "double tap" to lock screen and very convenient.

More convenient than a single press of a button? I need to play with it more, didn't really see any settings that I thought would be better than the current method but I'm sure there's something in there.

My back-tap, an iPhone 11 in a clear case, still activates too frequently when handling the phone or putting it down. I'm hoping it'll be refined over the betas, otherwise I'll either not use it or try to work out what exactly I'm doing that erroneously triggers it.

Since we are discussing back tap, I have found the best use of back tap is to trigger Siri shortcuts. It can make for a very nice workflow.
Might have to try that, I still need to set some up to begin with. This might be a good way to access them.

There's a shortcut out there to generate Shakespearean insults on demand. For laughs, I connected that one to back tap.

Now, due to the oversensitivity of the back tap, I get late medieval insults every time I set my phone down, like "Thou vain flap-mounted horn-beat".

Make my day!

I'm thinking that you ought to share that link... even if it's by PM. :D

Here you go!

Assign that to the 2 tap back tap and then, if you're in an argument with your significant other, just tap twice and you will have the perfect riposte! Like "Thou beslubbering hedge-born toad!" Probably works in this forum too

Perhaps the survival rate after launching one of those insults would be significantly higher here on the forum.

Just discovered something good. (Apologies if it's old news.) In the Siri Suggestions widget for "App Suggestions," you can long press on any app that shows up there and get a "Don't Suggest" option so that the machine learning doesn't show that app any more. Super helpful to keep that widget filled with the apps you really want called up there.

Separate entrance edits are back in Maps!

In Messages, does anyone find the swipe right to "pin contact" annoying? It should be to "mark as read," Pin Contact should be with a hard press.
