Question, what's going on with your phone signal, with the dots below the strength? Mine isn't like that.
dual SIMs in use, I guess.

When you’re deep down in the mem menu, long-pressing the back arrow at the top left brings up this pop-up, using which you can go to any of the previous levels including straight to the main menu. Just saves a couple swipes.

it could be quite useful in safari.

Good to know that this is in other places like settings now. As far as Safari goes, that's actually something that has been there for some time now.

Don’t recall seeing this before, so mentioning it here. When receiving a text on iPad, there are suggested auto-replies above the keyboard. Or am I hallucinating and have just missed these?

Anyone know why apps are asking to allow access to local networks?

Do I need the newest Mac OS to sync iOS 14.0 to my iTunes?

NEW FUNCTIONALITY

Yesterday I stumbled by chance into a new function on iOS 14, but I could not find it again once dismissed.

I was trying the new "library" function when as of a sudden, I got into a screen where all the several "phone screens" with the apps on my phone were displayed and it was like it was possible rearrange them and, for instance, drag page 8 in a new position and make it page 3 for example.
I have dismissed this, and since then I cannot find a way to recall this functionality again... any of you guys has experienced this or know how to replicate this function? what gesture to invoke it? Damn, it was beautiful and a dream to rearrange the position of my phone screens!

Long press on the home screen to enter app editing mode, and then press the page indicator in the middle of the screen right above the dock.

Are these walking metrics in Health new? Never seen then before.

Yes, thank you for posting this, didn’t even know it was there. It’s actually pretty interesting data!

I like the new feature where you can double or triple tap the back of the iPhone to start an action

Here’s one that I haven’t seen mentioned.

When adding widgets, you can create your own “smart” stacks. Just drag a widget of the same shape on top of another widget. From there, you can edit the stack and if you like, you can turn off smart rotate.

A BIG THANK YOU!!!!

Step length is calculated from your height and when you walk with your iPhone in your pocket on a flat surface

Hasn't that been the case since iPhoneOS 1.0? (i know it didn't have multiple home page screens, but the page selector control works that way in apps, or at least it used to, though I haven't tried it lately.)
Never even saw any dots before 14 to try.

Can create multiple bedtime alarms now.

I like ti too, but the double tap, delivers many "false positive"... triple is more cumbersome, but safer!
Yep, I had my double tap set to control center and disabled it after about an hour because it would pop up when I changed hands or set my phone down. Maybe too sensitive?

There's a new mini pop-up list to select options on iPhone, very similar to the contextual menus when holding down App icons. So far seen this on when selecting the sleep timer in Podcasts and when switching to speaker phone during a call.

Also creating and renaming folders in Files is now all inline, no more blurred out background.

1. You can enter jiggle mode just by long pressing an empty space. It no longer requires to long press an app.
2. Long press menus are now smaller in font and the menu itself is smaller

Example:

3. Mark up from Edit photos has been revamped with offering of more options in choosing colour.

5. When uploading a file or photos via web browser, the new UI of photo selector is now similar when searching for a song in Apple Music. It now has 2 tabs “Photos” and “Album” and search bar for searching photos.View attachment 926932

Additionally, iOS14 made some tweaks in the playlist UI and the tabs of Apple Music.

One thing I am curious if someone can check for me is the batteries widget cross compatible with iPad and iPad Os? So you can check all your iOS devices from any device? I have wanted that for a long time.

I set my double tap up to run a shortcut called Shakespeare Insults Generator (don't judge me! 😂) and I'm getting insulted every time I set my phone on the charger. Too many insults! (too sensitive).

The weather app now shows precipitation probabilities for each day in the forecast, and not just "today".

Dark Sky has arrived!

My main curiosity that wasn’t mentioned at the keynote nor is it noted anywhere in Apples complete feature list breakdown for iOS 14, is anything on performance improvements. Does anyone know anything about this? I’m guessing they must have some things for performance improvements worked in...at least I hope!

Apologies in advance if this was part of the main presentation, and I just missed it but I just stumbled upon this feature reading an article today.

There is now a setting under the accessibility section that lets you assign quick actions or shortcuts to a double tap or triple tap on the back of the phone.

For example, I can pull down my notification panel with a double tap and the control center with a triple tap.

Thanks for pointing this out. This is a cool feature.
