Dark Sky has arrived!

My main curiosity that wasn’t mentioned at the keynote nor is it noted anywhere in Apples complete feature list breakdown for iOS 14, is anything on performance improvements. Does anyone know anything about this? I’m guessing they must have some things for performance improvements worked in...at least I hope!

And still no Weather app on iPad, this will become very annoying when the Dark Sky app is discontinued. Could do with a Mac app too.

NEW FUNCTIONALITY

Yesterday I stumbled by chance into a new function on iOS 14, but I could not find it again once dismissed.

I was trying the new "library" function when as of a sudden, I got into a screen where all the several "phone screens" with the apps on my phone were displayed and it was like it was possible rearrange them and, for instance, drag page 8 in a new position and make it page 3 for example.
I have dismissed this, and since then I cannot find a way to recall this functionality again... any of you guys has experienced this or know how to replicate this function? what gesture to invoke it? Damn, it was beautiful and a dream to rearrange the position of my phone screens!

The one thing, is that you can't rearrange the screens in that menu, I thought so at first, but when I tried, they're fixed in place.

Long press on the home screen to enter app editing mode, and then press the page indicator in the middle of the screen right above the dock.

Okay, I tried. But now, how can I rearrange whole pages?I just lets me select/unselect pages

Is it text or audio? I'd greatly appreciate some Shakespearian insults hurled in my direction.

Dark Sky has arrived!
And when precipitation is imminent, a histogram shows up with the % chance of precipitation over the next little while (I was in a meeting when we had some storms roll through and saw this but forgot to take a screenshot).

Spotlight search now allows you to open the app directly, saving a click.

I don’t have an iOS 13 device with me to check it. But don’t you have to type, hit enter and then click on the app icon to open the app? Now you just type and hit enter and you’re in.
In 13 and still in 14. If I start typing and the app appears as one of the four, I can tap it and open it.

Can you edit the App Library? Change where apps go? Rename the folders?

no, I think the whole point of App Library is that apple does the job for you. It’s basically for lazy people or people who don’t know making folders even exists, like my mum. I personally already have and always had them categorized into folders so it’s of no use for me. Wish I could deactivate that screen

Out of curiosity, what's the issue with it?
CallKit enabled apps use the system phone UI, and log all calls (missed or not) to the phone app, and when you have like 5+ VoIP apps it drowns out "real" calls. Being able to sandbox the phone app to JUST phone calls would be nice.

I see. I guess it depends on the personal use cases. I definitely know some people that prefer to have all calls, be they actual phone calls or VoIP ones, be handled in a similar way and logged in the same place as they are basically just "calls" to them. However, keeping them separate can have its value too, so having some option to enable/disable it all would be nice to have.

I used to have a homepage just for my shortcuts. Now, in the Shortcuts app I've created a few folders each with 4 shortcuts in. Next, I created a Shortcuts widget (2x2) for each folder and stacked them. Maybe it's just because it's new, but I'm finding this easier to use.

I feel bad for Adam Tow (developer of LaunchCuts) but you knew this was coming. Shortcuts was just too hard to use with the Library, particularly since there are now a lot of one action shortcuts now. I haven’t gone in to organize mine yet, but will over the weekend (along with my home screens).

Has anyone who had LaunchCuts noticed if the folder system translated over or did you have to start from scratch?

Honestly I'd rather use it simply because it makes the folders larger. I already organize my extra apps into folders. Still would love this option but not if I have zero control. :(

Hmm that feature was already available in 13.

For me I prefer it all to be in the phone app. I can easily distinguish which call came from which app case it says there. I have Kakaotalk, LINE and WeChat
