I’m downloading to my xs max; says it’s a public beta. I can live with a gimped phone for a few days right now; won’t be putting it on the iPad or watch for a while though.

Always is! They're still running the iOS 13 betas, so you can't have 2 betas running on the same profile.

Yes, I’m actually rich or rather way above average. I could’ve got two watch bands rather than one last year.

Do backups via itunes and icloud both. Can always downgrade and restore to iOS 13 just fine.

No, just that you might not be able to sync by plugging your phone into a Mac.

Would really love to try the beta's, but I've got health data on my Apple Watch from 2016, not risking that.

I think whoever has a Dev account it shows as Developer Beta, for all others who have downloaded profile from different sources, it says Public Beta.
