UPDATED
Other when I got up this morning: 15.25gb
Other prior to reboot (couple hours after getting up): 15.25gb
After reboot #1: 9.38gb
After reboot #2: 8.04gb
An hour after last reboot: 8.49gb

Something is definitely going on and a reboot helps short term.
Think we just all need to be a bit patient as Apple says a fix is in the works. 🤞

Weather widget is now black, doesn’t show any data anymore. And whole phone restarts if camera is activated from within FB Messenger.

Well that’s messed up... just attempted the FB messenger bug. Hopefully it gets an app update that solves that.

At first I had peace of mind with restarting the iPhone, now within 3 hours I had 8 of them! I will play the iphone through DFU and see if it continues.

For those of you who have had the data recovery issue with the 2020 SE like I have...send in a feedback report (if you haven’t already). Seeing more and more posts about it on his thread has definitely settled it for me that it’s not an issue on my end. Looking at my feedback now, it currently says ”none” for recent similar reports. It sure sounds like it’s device specific...hopefully we can get this addressed soon!

I was originally thinking I was having a wifi issue during the update process, but for more people here saying they had the issue both times...well I guess my wifi isn’t the issue!

Can’t replicate either of these issues... weird. Widgets have been hit or miss for many people, though. What phone?

I hope developers start classifying their apps a little better - some of the placement in the App Library is a little confusing; I have a car rental app appearing under Reading & Reference.

Good job
I agree. I already organize all my apps into 16 folders, and I doubt the developers will do a better job for me than I will. But it should be better than it is right now. At the moment, the app library is very unhelpful in finding apps.

I submitted feedback this morning. Mine was a stock phone new right out of the box, so it shouldn't have had anything glitched to trigger a problem.

For anyone with the “Other storage” bug, I found a workaround for the time being that worked for me pretty well.

The storage is supposed to fluctuate due to systems needs. My “other storage” was taking up about 100gb on my iPad. I basically just installed a ton of free games with the largest sizes I could find. It took a bit, but as the games installed, when my total remaining storage would get to about 1gb free, it would start freeing up space. I installed a bunch of games and then deleted them. I was able to reclaim about 50gb and it hasn’t gone back up. Hope that helps anyone out with the issue.
hey, just updating on trying this: it WORKS! i was able to get my Other storage down about 10 GB on a 64 GB phone - probably could have done more if i had more patience! works for now, though.

Sometimes when I attach my iPhone on iOS 14 beta 1/2 to MacBook with Catalina 10.15.5, the display of the iPhone in finder window of Mac blinks continuously- it shows iPhone for 1 second then it disappears to appear again after 1 second.

This has to be a joke. Still not fixed even after last summer?

Still not fixed. Seeing a count mismatch between badge, shown in root, and post manual refresh.

With B2 I am also seeing a lag on GMail badge count update - takes time and a manual refresh won’t fix.

Protonmail still running smooth.

Wonder if it something with Notifications?

Seeing an error with the badge on my Fidelity app.
and GMail app
and Mail app (has been for a while)

Question for IPP 11 2020 owners.
Anyone seeing charging speed issues?

With B2 I am seeing very slow charging rates.
Same charger, same cable, display is showing about 5% an hour charge rate.

24W Charger and braided cable (Anker). Been in use since I bought the IPP 11.

I had the same with the weather widget in the Smart stack, if you edit the stack and move the weather to a different position it starts to work again.

Widgets are def worse on beta 2. Weather widget seems to work more or less better than what I’m hearing here. News widget rarely seems to update. The calendar widget surprisingly updates as events come and go, so no complaints from me on that one. All other widgets frequently just turn black off and on and are mostly unusable. I’m thinking widgets we’re not the prime focus on beta 2. Maybe next beta.

I am having a problem with wallpaper also. When I go to pick one of the new wallpaper options the settings app immediately closes
I’ve only been using walls chosen from my photos and have no problems at all. Does that work better for you or not?

It most likely will not sort itself out and there’s most likely nothing any of us can do on our own to “fix” this other than a restore... my “Other” section has slowly been growing in size and is now over 134GB. Apple is aware and working on it.

I’m also finding that I’m unable to add any image attachments in these forums when I post from my iPhone. I’m able to edit the post and add them on my iPad, though. My iPhone looks like it’s uploading the image attachment, and then it gets crossed out. Weird.

Try logging out and logging back in on your phone. I had that issue I think before and I had to renew my credentials

Installed beta 2 from the computer and now my App Store is crashing every time I am trying to launch it on my iPad. Reboot didn’t help. Worked previously when I went OTA from beta 1 to 2. strange

Weather widget started out poorly (no data for a few hours) but seemed to resolve itself by last evening.

Only real issue for me so far is that I cannot access OneDrive files (other than Sharepoint shares) from the Files app. The files show briefly and then I get a “Content Unavailable” message asking me to “Try Again”. That doesn’t work either. I can access those same files from the OneDrive app itself.
I noticed that weather widget seems to sort itself out after a while.

Doesn’t happen on the latest Messenger beta.

I was wondering if this was still true, I think it may be fixed; if I see Mail notifications and open the app I see the emails there waiting for me, no need to refresh the inbox anymore.

my Notification badge doesn’t go away unless I refresh or kill the app multiple times

I had the Exchange/O365 issue, saying I needed admin approval for it to accept my password. Went into settings > Calendar > Accounts > O365 account and deleted it. Then immediately added it back. All working okay again.
This did not work for me, glad I tried it on a device that I can not worry about for the next couple of weeks and can use Outlook, I do much prefer Mail though, any other ideas because now I’ve deleted the account it simply will not go back at all now, not one little bit, same admin error 100% of the time, thanks

So is this Other and System storage thing something likely to be resolved with a further update to iOS 14? I’ve never had a system jump of almost 20GB of usage installing software.

Yes. Absolutely. This is a beta cycle. Stuff happens. Stuff gets fixed. New stuff happens. New stuff gets fixed. Nothing to see here. Nothing to wring one's hands over.

As soon as I posted that I figured it was rhetorical as we are very early into a brand new software. I’ve just never had that experience before so was curious. Thanks for the response.
