Never had an issue with beta 1 or 2 but beta 3 on my iPad Pro has issues. Adding any widget is causing iOS to respring. Anyone else got this issue?

EDIT: Deleting Smart Stack and adding widgets again fixed this for me.
EDIT 2: Seems the issue is Smart Stack. If you take it out of your favourites and then add items to the stack, it works but if you try to add a widget whilst Smart Stack is in the favourites, iOS resprings.

I’m getting the attempting data recovery PITA again as with all the previous betas. 2020SE
Any other SE owners out there having the same problem? Adds another 30 min to the whole process👎🏻

Yup, same thing. Finished the boot ok after that "recovery" was done.

How do I change profile pic in apple music. Is it moved to another place? I think it was somewhere in account page, no?

I had the same issue. You can't do it from the phone (to my knowledge at least), you have to set it first from the Music app from a Mac. Maybe it will work from the web app too, I haven't tried. Then you'll see it on the iOS app (might need to kill and restart the app to force a refresh).

My "Other" storage is now back to pre-iOS 14 levels. Will monitor to see if it stays there!

I wish I would have checked what the other storage space was at right after updating to iOS 14 beta 1. I’m wondering if triggering logging for Feedback is what ends up taking that space? Maybe they figured out how to clear it, but will it be back?

When you start an argument with „i‘m a software engineer“ chances are high you aren‘t or are pretty early into your dev career (or far along but stuck in a dead end with no promotion in sight).
Same goes for calling programming a clock in a gigantic pile of closed source code you had no access to or know the inner workings of „trivial“.
Actually, i’ve been an engineer for over 15 years now. I’ve worked in FI/FD, CI/FD and CI/CD bot waterfall and agile in many different forms for sme’s banks and government organizations and never have i seen a situation where it’s ok to merge a feature that just isn’t working in the slightest bit! Releasing a clock widget that isn’t telling the time!?! How can you take that seriously?

And yes, i’ve Programmed more than a few clocks, and it’s trivial. I get that it’s a widget and it needs to work with the widget API that Probably is still changing. But that’s no excuse to release something that isn’t working.
Beta’s are to test finished features, not features that aren’t even supposed to pass internal testing.

Is this update not OTA? I just got home plugged in my phone and checked but it says I’m up to date.
I am not sure but I think that the people discussing it here were on the Developer Beta not the Public Beta. I have not see the update (whether my iPhone 11 is on battery power, plugged into a charger or plugged into my iMac). 😢😢😢

I don't see why not. It's not reliant on release new devices. Plus, Apple's website says Autumn, as it always does.
Autumn runs til December 21! Plus, there are always "hidden" features related to the new hardware. So, good bet that the timing relative to the new hardware will be the same: after the announcement but before the release. It is possible, though, that they could release 14.0 "on time" and save the hardware dependent features for a 14.x release.

They will start coming out in the week leading up to iOS 14's official release. Though, not every developer will be working on them yet, so you might see some not come out for ages, depending on the developers. If there's apps you're wanting Widgets for, contact those Apps developers on social media and ask them for them to support it 😀
Federio Viticci posted on Twitter yesterday asking devs to let him know if they are developing widgets. Apparently a fair number are already doing so.

I just want to see Whatsapp, i think they knows everyone want that widget. :D
Knowing Facebook, that widget probably won't be out til sometime mid next year (and I'm not kidding)

some people doesnt understand diff beta and kickin alive. When sales person wanted to show of. Broken. Proceeed.. We need something to show of.

Sometimes its not about code but impression.

Well, my iPhone is still doing random reboots still on Beta 3! Joy

Well my 11 Pro Max has done one reboot so far. The famous panicfull. Space seems fixed. Bluetooth speaker disconnections seems fixed too.

So no that bad.

As far as weather widget goes, after 3 reboots and 3 hard resets no widget. iPad 11 Pro 2020 here.

Mine is slowly...reallllly slowly...creeping up. And then it dropped 2 GB while I was checking it to write this. At 15.2 GB now. Was over 30 for beta 2.

Couple of interesting tidbits...

ProMax DB3
- Citibank is still broken - claims jailbroken
- Health says my AW4 is no longer paired with this device but everything else says it is

IPP 11 2020 PB3
- update turned off my 24hr clock setting. Had to manually change it back to 24hr

That doesn’t makes sense at all. A clock widget isn’t really a huge selling point. But releasing a clock that doesn’t work makes a really bad impression. Especially when you already have a really bad reputation concerning clocks.

I'm really hoping they are planning to allow actual widgets on iPadOS, it seems absolutely nuts that you can pin them to the home screen on a phone but not on the larger iPad screen. I never use that stupid "swipe to the left" action.

I'm more annoyed that you can't search for emoji on iPad...there's the same amount as on iPhone!

Shortcut automations can now be triggered on app opening and closing.

I use Cyclemeter to track my bike rides and occasionally use an HRM. Now, I can have bluetooth turn on automatically when I use the app, and turn back off afterwards. Perfect!
See! I told you it would come!

Widgets are pretty much fixed for me in this beta. They populate correctly and don't get stuck in light/dark mode anymore.
