iOS 14 Beta 3 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I have been running iOS 14 since beta 1 on my iPad. I went install the profile on my iPhone and it wants to install Beta 2. Do I need to install Beta 2 before it will go to Beta 3?

Yes, you need to install in order.

Have tried rebooting several times now... cannot get weather widget to reappear on iPad Pro (11”) - since there’s no accompanying weather app on iPadOS, I guess I’m just SOL until the next round, or it decides to want to show up again. Meh...

I have the weather widget after rebooting the first time after the beta installed. iPad Pro 11" 2018. (screenshot attached.

Does everyone still have their weather widget? Mine is gone. Lol

I did read through the whole thread and I didn't see where the term "developer beta" was mentioned. Sorry for inconveniencing you - your answer could have been a bit more polite IMHO.

It says on Macrumors story on the front page that it's Dev beta 3. Public Beta is only on Beta 1, with Beta 2 due probably tomorrow ☺️

Guessing that's still the jailbreak detection bug? That's why it's good not to stick the beta on primary device, especially without waiting to see what apps are broken/buggy ☺️

I have to say, I really, really like the Smart Stack widget concept. I've got a dinner meeting coming up in 30 minutes and there is the calendar widget sitting there reminding me its time to leave. This is going to be so cool when third parties can play in this space too.

I really like it. It knows if I’m at work, I usually go to chipotle for lunch and suggests I open the app right about lunch time!

The clock widget is great. Would be also good to disable the clock from above when you have the widget. Like the battery life icon.

Features are too cool and useful. We didn’t have issues with any other betas in the past so I didn’t expect it. Considering it’s my only issue, doing pretty well. Still remembering maps crashing on iOS 7 lol

Go figure.

I had the same thing happen to me with beta 2.

I don’t think the „other“ bug may actually be fixed ... mine was at 5 GB (down from 20 GB before the Update) and it’s slowly growing again. Now it’s already at 7,8 GB

It is usually an ongoing problem during the beta process.

I apologize if this was covered as I couldn’t find it in the threads. Has the GPS triangulation issue been fixed in Beta 3? It used to go all over the place and never triangulated on my location on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. It also seemed related to the LTE connection as well when triangulating on maps. So I reverted back to iOS 13.6 in hope that this is fixed at some point. Thanks for any help.

Not sure if this is new, but now when triggering "hey siri" on iphone with the screen off, only the siri bubble popus up and the rest of the screen is black. looks really clean. I remember the whole screen lighting up to your lock screen?

this seems fixed for me. before it was having trouble getting satellite signals, but all seems fine with this beta.

mine was the other way around with my iPad and iPhone.

The weather widget worked for me after beta 3 install. Now it is not working and is black like some the people have experienced. Tapping the weather widget does nothing for me. The News widget is also black but, tapping it brings up the News app.

How hard is it to get the time right FFS.

Switch off and on Set Automatically (Time Zone) toggle under Date & Time and Location settings.

That worked for me.

But if you totally switch off the toggles and set time zone manually the widget looses time.

That hasn’t been my experience so far (it seems pretty good), so I’d suggest anyone who turned it off maybe give it another try and see if it’s different, since I can’t actually speak on the sensitivity before beta 3.

Also something that I discussed with other 2020 SE owners in past betas...my phone entered recovery mode during install. It did that on both beta 1 and 2, and sure enough...today with beta 3. I didn’t lose any data, and the update was completed after recovery finished. Based on the discussions I was a part of, it seems to be an issue limited to the new SE. While looking at my feedback report, it did say that there have been quite a few similar reports, so at least the issue is known to Apple.

Yup, same thing. Finished the boot ok after that "recovery" was done.

All 3 betas were this way for my SE. also, I also always need to log out of iCloud and sign back in to get rid of the settings icon badge. Two extra pita steps just to get the upgrade installed. The hoops we jump thru to get the latest beta😂

I can, I just changed it from Cupertino to Amsterdam, to London, for the 1 big clock. Unless you mean the other types?

With the widget with 4 clocks, tap on the yellow name of the city and you will get the city list to pick from.

Thanks! Didn't think to tap on the city names....I was just tapping on the 3 horizontal bars on the right.

My AirPod pros are not working on beta 3. pop up says connected but sound comes out of phone. removed and repaired still the same. They are working fine on my iPad which hasn’t been updated

For Weather widget, i just did drag the app from App Library to my home page, after doing that it appears now in widget area. Of course, edit to your location then.

I ended up deleting the weather app and reinstalled from App Store. Was the only to work for me.
