was having the same thing. 11 pro max was cooking hot! I disabled all widgets and did a restart. Fixed it.
On my XR I had to leave the app open for maybe 5-10 mins and it kind of just fixed itself. Sorry if that’s not helpful.
Unfortunately, mine is just like yours.

Found an interesting way to activate back tap.
While holding my phone in my right hand, noticed a bit of dirt in my right thumb nail. Used a finger nail on my other hand to pick it out, which made a clicking sound as the nails passed. This must have sent vibrations through to the phone which activated back tap.
I did manage to reproduce that but without much reliability. Another slightly more reliable way is to firmly tap the nail of my right thumb as it’s hovering above the screen.
Just sharing for interest!

The weather app and the widget are completely non-functional for me again after initially working better when I updated to beta 3. I wonder if they r working on it in the background
Same here PB2, widget was displaying weather from earlier on today. Deleted the widget, restarted phone, then added widget again, working now.
Was working flawlessly on PB1.
This has been discussed in several dozen posts here already. Different things seem to work. Among them: waiting it out, changing the city, changing from “current location” to a fixed location, a removing and re-adding the widget and restarting the phone. Restarting the phone fixed it for me.
It was mentioned earlier in the thread by a couple of people. I’m assuming they reported it. Probably no-one else is using them on this thread, so they’re not aware.
It can do that the first day of OS install, if it has continued, I suggest a fresh install of iOS 14, as it shouldn’t still be hot or take a long time to charge.

Tap on the widget and tap edit weather widget. Scroll up ever so slightly and you should see the option to edit location. Enter your location. That will solve the problem. It took me doing this 4 - 5 different times, before weather looked like it is supposed to.
Update on Reminders:
Reminders sync is now totally messed up again. Even worse than before! If you amend a Reminder date, time or delay it for another time or day (remind me later) on your Mac, when it syncs across to your iPhone the date doesn't change at all and the reminder remains on the same day you originally set it for. BUT the time changes to a few minutes after the original time set! Does this make sense??? I set a reminder to call someone today at 15:00. But needed to now call them on Monday. So I reset the date on my Mac to Monday at 15:00. However, the date changed on my Mac BUT on my phone the reminder remained for today but for 15:03!!!!!!

Is the weather completely removed from iPad OS 14?
After the most recent update, Yahoo Weather was removed and I had to re download it to my iPad.

As per earlier discussions in this thread and in other threads, weather app and widget disappeared from iPads, but returned after rebooting (once for some, more times for others). Some added the widget by dragging the icon to the Today section or something like that.
How do I switch the music app to open straight to my library? I swear I had it that way in ios13 I hate seeing a huge picture of my face when I open the app and it’s showing the for you section.
I still haven't had much luck. I have rebooted & restarted 3X each, and nothing. When I do try to pin Yahoo Weather in the 'box' for pinning, it just blinks, and then no luck.
I appreciated the suggestions.
I noticed the same thing, even while barely using it I had the phone needs to cool down screen on my 11 pro Max. I did a restart and seems to have fixed it for now.
I have noticed that with DB3, more so than DB1&2, if something starts messing up, most times a reboot will fix the issue.
Sounds like beta code (or alpha) to me.
