iOS 14 Beta 3 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Make sure to submit feedback for any missing widget so they see there‘s demand for them.
Did the widget demo in the keynote feature a phone or contacts widget? I only remember the clock one being shown there (and missing from B1-2).
Is beta 3 just generally terrible for anyone else? I'm currently running beta 3 on my XS Max and sometimes when I turn my phone on the brightness and colors are all messed up, my airpods won't stay connected, the keyboard lags like hell. Beta 2 was absolutely fine for me so I'm wondering if I just need a fresh install.
The build used at WWDC was far ahead of beta 1&2, so that would have the clock widget. Mind you, I don’t remember seeing the Notes widget in the Keynote (I might be forgetting if it was in there), which came in beta 2.
I’m not sure if they showed any others we haven’t seen, but as they’re many builds ahead of the Dev Beta releases, they could have easily finished remaking the other, currently missing, stock widgets. They could come in later builds, along with Apple News Audio and ExposureNotification API. 😊
I’m not saying don’t feed it back, just saying that it’s likely to already be in the works.
I didnt realize this feature still exists. Can you tell me how to get to this?
Spent yesterday playing around with dictation on my Pro Max.
Couple of notes ...
1. when doing longer dictations, in Messages, the dictation would stop and only the first couple of words would show in the message bar.
2. spell check is a real pain. I would see corrections / changes to a message right at the point of send. WTH!?!
3. in Notes Iwould have dictation suddenly stop then pick back up leaving a gap in the note I was dictating
In all I would say the spell check was the biggest pain point. For the most part, the dictation was pretty accurate comparing what I said to what was shown.

Yes I always thought it would be humorous for the weather to show partly moony at night.
Wonder if this only for the iPad Pro because I have the Mini 5 and though I seem to remember it on the first PB, I don't see it now. (Actually removed it from when I first saw it because it would link to the Weather.com website because there is no Weather app for PadOS.)
So, I've heard others having to restart their device 3-4 times. I did that when the Beta 3 came out, and it didn't appear. Then, I had to restart it randomly yesterday, and once it fired up, it appeared. 🤷🏼♂️
Same here. I’ve restarted my iPhone 11PM a handful of times since Dev beta 3 was released and just two days ago did I finally have the Weather widget listed at all as an option, and it wasn’t until yesterday that it actually worked.

I noticed something pretty cool in the Music app in CarPlay- the countdown to the end of the track! Not sure if that’s been posted before.. TBH I haven’t been driving much lately so I’m not sure if this has been there the entire time. But I welcome this! I’d prefer to have a tad more info on the screen, too, though. Stuff like track number of however many, and maybe even disc number..

MacRumors just posted about Field Test Mode (FTM). There’s a great explanation at the bottom about the numbers to look for.
I remember using FTM a lot back in the iPhone 4 antennagate days and then again with the poor signal issues on the iPhone XS Max... There’s plenty of info in FTM but the odds that the average Joe or Joette would utilize this are few. I’m also not 100% sure, but I think the FTM “app” is always there just as the Feedback app (applefeedback://) is. It’d be great to know the URL as to create a Home Screen icon for it.

Thanks, a restart did fix most of these. Seems as stable as PB2 at least.
What about trying to paste this into the top blank area of the iPhone Phone App dialed screen?

Does anything happen at all when you try that? You said it’s not available on the iPhone 8, but it is on my wife’s iPhone 8 Plus. It’d be odd to omit a feature like this from one size to another on the same model.
I also just entered FTM on an older iPhone 6S on iOS 14 beta 3.

What kind of device do you have? I’ve got an iPhone 11 Pro Max and I can honestly say that I haven’t seen anything this stable since I was still using iOS 12.
What's so bad about it?
99% of the people are saying iOS 14 is the most stable beta apple has ever released.
