I've been having location issues on ios14 beta 1 onwards. Issue is with FindMy app doesn't show location of my device most of the time or shows incorrect location at times. Any suggestions?

Probably just wait for another beta or 2. Location issues seem to be common occurrences in early betas. Until they aren’t.

should be coming soon.

what is this zoom view you speak of? 🤔
In display option, now, there is option "Normal view" and "Zoom View". Zoom view option wasn't available only in XS right from its launch.

I submitted feedback about the Mail app sometimes not receiving push notifications in the form of badges and banners, several weeks ago. It was marked as being reported by more than ten people with a resolution of open.

Today it’s been changed to “none” with a resolution of “open.” If they haven’t fixed it, how does that work? 🤔

All the talk about the issues with the clock widget, but according to the feedback app, I’m the only one that has raised it. 🤔🤔

Can you change it to Out of Sync? Maybe it goes by words?

will do. Have noticed it’s respecting dark mode today!

edit: before it only seemed to user the dark mode at night, but not in daytime, even if dark mode was enabled during the day.

I can't get Zoom (the magnification feature, not the video-conference app) to work. This seems to be new--or I could just be missing something obvious: I have Zoom turned on in Accessibility, but a three-finger tap doesn't have any effect. I think I'm doing it as I always have.

I've tried rebooting, turning Zoom off and rebooting, etc. Any suggestions? I'm on a Xs using the latest 14.0 beta.

In Finder, Hold down Option while you press “Check for Update”, and that’ll open up a browse to window where you can navigate to the file. It’s possible that you might have to have the latest XCode Beta installed, too. I know I needed to so that my iPhone 11 Pro Max would even be accessible in the Finder.

This might help a little:

Thanks! I will try that later

Once again I have my IPP playing music I don’t own.
IPP 11 G2 - PB3
Pulled out my AirPods Pro and the lockscreen of my IPP lit up showing the AP and battery level on the lockscreen. IPP still locked. Then music started playing through the AP.
7A12DA7F-E4BA-40DE-BE93-0486CDD1DCE0.png

It just started playing on its own.
I don’t own that song. I don’t have it in any library. This has happened before on the betas.
I have no clue how or where.

Reported via feedback.

Does anyone else have problem with Music on the latest public beta? When I click a song in my library, it takes like 15 sec before it starts streaming. Rebooting doesn’t fix it.

If you've been an iTunes user since 2014 or before, you DO own the album. Songs of Innocence was the free album that Apple gave us all (foisted upon us all). It's even more egregious in that it's the gift that (apparently) keeps on giving!

The account currently on my IPP and ProMax was created in 2017. I do have another account on family devices.
Okay ... where is it coming from? Streaming? More importantly why does it auto play?
When I look into all my music accounts I don’t see it.
Anyway thanks for the info. Now to stop this autoplay crap.

I’ve had this issue for the last couple of years. Randomly, when I disconnect my AirPods from my iPhone, it would randomly play music. Usual when I got to work, playing a random song, like Agadoo or something else out to the office. Usually a song I’ve never played before.

For me it has only been this one song. :(

This has been a major CarPlay issue for me. I’d say maybe 75% of the time I connect my iPhone in my car, this one same song plays. I’ve filed a bunch of feedback for that, too. But it sounds similar. Connect a new output and a different playlist is somehow enacted upon.

Can’t remember if it was in this thread but someone was complaining about a nighttime weather icon showing a cloud and the Sun to represent partly cloudy. Several people chimes in saying you had to do it that way to represent that weather condition, even at night.

Turns out: no. That is definitely the moon.

Same problem. No fix.

Try going to Settings/General/iPhone Storage, then scroll down to the update and delete it. Then wait like a full minute or two and then reboot. Then try software update again.

Never got to that point though, doesn’t it download after the agreement?

I’m just spitballin’ not sure. But I have seen system updates listed there before that have failed, only like 24mb in size or something small and random.

Tried that. Also tried manually installing the iOS 14 IPSW with iTunes, but that bricked the phone. So now I've done a restore to 13 and I'm going to try and download Beta 3 and then restore from a backup.

Field Test Mode does not only work on Intel iPhones. It's a built in Cellular tool for any/all carriers. Again, I've used this before on an iPhone 6s Plus, and All iPhone 6S models use Qualcomm modems. Apple didn't start going with Intel until the iPhone 7.

From:

For Sprint or Verizon (or any iPhone with the Qualcomm chipset)

  • For all models except iPhone X, first turn off LTE by going to Settings, then Cellular, then Cellular Data Options.
  • Make sure Enable LTE status is Off. You can turn LTE on again after viewing the dBm reading.
  • Tap on 1x EV-DO
  • The dBm reading is the number identified as Rx AGCO
  • You may have to restart your iPhone to get back into the menu.
  • dBm is typically expressed as a negative number, -88 for example. The closer to zero the reading is, the stronger the cell signal. So a reading of -80 is stronger than -95.

And from OSXDaily going all the way back to 2012:

This will work on any iPhone model and any version of iOS, except the very original:

  • Open the Phone app as if you were going to make a regular phone call
  • From the iPhone keypad, dial *3001#12345#* and hit the “Call” button

I know. I am on a Qualcomm iPhone 8 and I know FT exists on both Intel and Qualcomm-enabled iPhones. What I have been saying is that I hope that the redesigned Field Test comes to Qualcomm iPhones soon. I never said that there is no Field Test in Qualcomm-enabled iPhone. I have been saying about 'redesigned Field Test'. :)

I know, and that’s what I am saying. My wife has an iPhone 8+ On Verizon and is seeing the redesigned FTM.
