Aha. Probably in the coming betas the Qualcomm-enabled iPhone 8 would get the redesigned Field Test.

Field Test Mode does not only work on Intel iPhones. It's a built in Cellular tool for any/all carriers. Again, I've used this before on an iPhone 6s Plus, and All iPhone 6S models use Qualcomm modems. Apple didn't start going with Intel until the iPhone 7.

From:

For Sprint or Verizon (or any iPhone with the Qualcomm chipset)

  • For all models except iPhone X, first turn off LTE by going to Settings, then Cellular, then Cellular Data Options.
  • Make sure Enable LTE status is Off. You can turn LTE on again after viewing the dBm reading.
  • Tap on 1x EV-DO
  • The dBm reading is the number identified as Rx AGCO
  • You may have to restart your iPhone to get back into the menu.
  • dBm is typically expressed as a negative number, -88 for example. The closer to zero the reading is, the stronger the cell signal. So a reading of -80 is stronger than -95.

And from OSXDaily going all the way back to 2012:

This will work on any iPhone model and any version of iOS, except the very original:

  • Open the Phone app as if you were going to make a regular phone call
  • From the iPhone keypad, dial *3001#12345#* and hit the “Call” button

Has anyone noticed that optimized battery charging has been working more consistently so far? Ever since the feature was introduced...it was very "spotty" in terms of how often it worked. (I could probably count the number of times it worked...without running out of fingers 😂). Ever since the iOS 14 betas, I've seen the notification pop up basically every night. I wonder if there was some sort of underlying issue that iOS 14 may have fixed.

Still not doing so for me. Goes straight to full charge. No pause.

Same here. Mine’s still running right up to 100%. I always pull my iPhone from the charger at 6am when I wake up.

Hmm. Well I won't attribute it to iOS 14 then! Interesting. My daily routine/charging habits haven't changed, so I wouldn't even say it's because of consistency on my part (given that it wasn't working consistently before). I guess it just works when it feels like it 😂

Anyone else unable to delete the links under the Recently Closed Tabs in Safari? (Go into tabs > hold the ‘+’ icon and your recently closed tabs should show, but you can’t swipe to officially remove them anymore). Bug or feature?

Not sure what the issue is ...
IPP 11 and ProMax - Messages has crashed a few times this morning. App opens to a screen where all the threads are missing then it crashes a few seconds later. No Data Analysis entries that match. Rebooting has no apparent affect.

I don't recall seeing this mentioned but I know weather has been having all sorts of issues.

I haven't seen my morning weather report on the Good Morning screen since I started testing iOS 14 but have continuously put off/forgotten mentioning it here. Is there a workaround?

How do I update to DB3 using the IPSW file? I cannot update OTA and have never used the IPSW file with iTunes through Finder. I am running the latest Catalina beta on my iMac and DB2 on my iPhone 11.

Thanks in advance!!

In Finder, Hold down Option while you press “Check for Update”, and that’ll open up a browse to window where you can navigate to the file. It’s possible that you might have to have the latest XCode Beta installed, too. I know I needed to so that my iPhone 11 Pro Max would even be accessible in the Finder.

This might help a little:

Widgets ....
I am seeing daily, actually multiple times a day, entries into Analytics / Data for GeneralMapsWiget issues.
Keep in mind I do not have the Maps widget running yet am seeing entries on my ProMax daily and my IPP every other day.

Anyone running into the same? I am assuming these are for the Apple Maps Widget.

Reported via Feedback.

Anyone else get a message when asking to play songs that I have download into my phone saying “Apple Music can’t play that” I don’t have Apple Music but it always was able to play music I have in my phone. What’s going on.

can someone report the bug?

I’ve been getting them and I never got them before. Seems I need to get up the same time each day for it to appear.

ProMax db3
Infrequently in an app, this is across numerous apps, when the app asks for a number and the number pad appears, the field showing the number being entered and the “Done” icon are missing. You can type the number but have no way of confirming it.

Just curious: why are you unable to report the bug? If you are running the beta, you should have the Feedback app on your device.
