Sounds like an Apple server problem. Something on the i-Device, waiting for an (to be expected - given Apple problems) overly-busy Apple server.

The server’s job should only be the sending of said message. I understood it happens prior to that phase.

Also, if it were server related, we wouldn’t see temporary improvements with client restarts.

I have had the same issue. It’s very annoying. 12 Pro, 14.3. I have turned my phone on and off a few times for other reasons and this problem still persists.

Waiting x amount of minutes before restarting has never done anything an immediate restart wouldn’t have solved if the issue is with the device.

I concur. This is not related to server. This is a OS bug.

FFS it is AWFUL today!!!

And again, I’m not even on iOS 14. This is an iOS issue beyond that version.

Is there any upcoming fix or workaround for this issue? It’s REALLY BAD on my iPhone 11.

Disappointed in Apple not being able to fix this for literally almost 6 months since the first developer releases.

I haven’t had this issue on my iPhone 12 mini since installing iOS 14.3

Based on the release notes for the upcoming iOS 14.4 release it seems that at least some fixes related to typing/keyboard performance should be included.
