So, what is the consensus? I'm still on 14.8.1 on all of my devices. Go with 15.1 or wait for 15.2?
Apart from my audio issue I’m happy I moved over.
Contemplating running 15.2 beta now.

The Sleep-Wakeup Alarms have their own volume and can be set for individual days. But I've noticed some odd behavior with ring/text/alarm volume settings too...Awoke to almost soiling myself due to my alarm volume this morning. I’m always setting the ringer to the lowest setting so as to not awake the house but I’m sure it’s a bug whereby the volume auto adjusts to half way. It’s frustrating!
Why can’t we set alarms at they’re own volumes??
15.1 has a few minor issues on my 13 Pro Max, none of which have been fixed in 15.2 on my iPad. They are very minor so I’m not complaining but I see no compelling reason to install the beta if you’ve been hesitant up to now. I’m leaving my phone alone unless a new version of 15.2 has some obvious improvement.Apart from my audio issue I’m happy I moved over.

I would stay on 14.8. Just cant do it myself since I have the 13. If Could Would roll back. Don't see much in 15 that would make me upgrade... too many issues with 15 so far, at least wait for 15.2 would be my advice. So, what is the consensus? I'm still on 14.8.1 on all of my devices. I have restored my 13 Pro from backup and done network and All settings resets. Still I observe some apps shown using significant battery "background" even though the apps are disabled for Background Refresh. After another hard-restart this seems to have cleared up ... for now.Have the phone been turned off after the update to 15.1 ?
had similar usage on my 8 plus, but reset of network settings and afterword turn the phone down and startup again fix the problem.
Same issue, must be a bug.I have restored my 13 Pro from backup and done network and All settings resets. I went iOS15 for my iPhone but am staying on 14.8.1 on my iPad. It's not because of bugs or performance (my X runs great on 15.1 with a few minor bugs that were no worse than iOS14.8 had) I just don't like the iPadOS UI.So, what is the consensus? I also have this issue with background tasks continuing despite killing the app and restarting. I really hope it is fixed in 15.2Same issue, must be a bug.
I just picked up an M1 11-inch iPad Pro that came with iPadOS 15. I have to say that I agree with you. I haven't tripped over any problematic bugs yet but almost every UI change from iPadOS 14 annoys me. A lot of it is just change for the sake of change. And almost every new feature is nothing that I need.I went iOS15 for my iPhone but am staying on 14.8.1 on my iPad. It's not because of bugs or performance (my X runs great on 15.1 with a few minor bugs that were no worse than iOS14.8 had) I just don't like the iPadOS UI.
The replacement of the screen has resolved the issue. Thank you all for your effortHello everyone!
I kindly ask for your advice regarding my situation with the touch screen issue on iPhone X and iOS 15.
I was using iPhone 7 updated to the iOS 15. Recently, I have decided to test out how does turn out FaceID in use and bought a used iPhone X with iOS 14 installed. Based on the previous owner's information, the iPhone on iOS 14 was working with no issues.
For successful restore backup from iCloud, I need to upgrade iPhone X to iOS 15 also.
Intermittently, when I want to unlock the iPhone, the touch randomly stops working. I have tried to bypass the lock screen with a double back tap but the touch issue persists. Hard reset sometimes does help, sometimes it doesn't and the touch is still not working. Nevertheless, after a while, the touch is working back again.
I experience this behavior usually in the evenings. I also noticed it has something to do with phone in the pocket affects this touch issue.
What have I tried so far:
• Full Reset & Erase (no restore from backup)
• Full Reset Reset & Erase via iTunes (no restore from backup)
• Update to iOS 15.0.2 + Reset & Erase via iTunes IPSW (no restore from backup)
• Update to iOS 15.1 beta 4 + Reset & Erase via iTunes IPSW (no restore from backup)
• Update to iOS 15.1 RC + Reset & Erase via iTunes IPSW (no restore from backup)
Unfortunately, the downgrade to iOS 14 is not possible anymore.
I understand it could be hardware or software-related. Should I wait on the iOS 15.1 release firstly or get the device inspected right away?
Thank you for your advice, any information would be helpful.
15.2 incoming then? ??This build is no longer signed for iPhone 12 & 13
15.2 incoming then?![]()
Is photos one of the apps showing background activity? And is it overnight? Like every night?!I have restored my 13 Pro from backup and done network and All settings resets. Auto uodate must have been turned on. Check settingsMy Mom’s iPhone 11 updated from iOS 14.8.1 to 15.1 on its own.
I thought Apple wasn’t doing that?
She did bring the phone into an Apple Store (without registering) because the phone was locked up, but she made it to the Genius Bar as the greeter just did a hard reset and then she left. A day later the phone updated.

No. Apple is letting you stay on 14.x, or go up to 15, but that’s only if auto update is not on.It is on, but I thought Apple wasn’t automatically upgrading phones to iOS 15 even if autoupdate is on.

They are really pushing 15.1 now. Yesterday I got the dreaded red dot on my settings icon and when you go into settings it says 15.1 is now available. When you go to software update 15.1 is right there now instead of telling you are up to date like it was before. I’m on 14.8.1. Glad I have my auto update turned off! I wonder if 14.8.1 was the last security update already for iOS 14?!? I guess we’ll see as time goes. That didn’t used to be the case.
I had checked the update screen on my Mom’s phone about a month ago when it was on 14.8. Auto updates were on an it was showing 14.8.1 update pending. This was after iOS 15.1 was released. I checked the about screen last week and she was on 14.8.1. She is now on 15.1, so Apple changed the way auto-update works sometime between around early November and now.
