Just updated to 15.2 public. Now can't seem to connect to my own wifi. Tried reset network settings. TP Link AX50 router is up&running and I have wifi connection on my computer. But my 13 PM won't connect to either 2.4 or 5Ghz wifi. Anyone else experiencing this?

Nevermind...had Access control activated on my router and apparently the WIFI address of my 13Pm has changed. (strange though it is)

This can also happen if Private WiFi Address is enabled and network reset will default to On as well.

That’s why issues are in release notes. Can choose to hold off if a known issue will affect your day to day. Good on you for that. ?
Oh I know, timing was just terrible. Would like to get the "fixes" but just signed up for Apple music within the last month. haha.

It’s random what it appears to affect. @tosbsas thinks it’s when you’re using 5G, tho it could be specific models when on 5G as I’ve not seen it on my 13 Pro Max personally, and we’ve not seen it on the X’s, 10’s and 11’s we have testing. The only device we saw it on was a 12 Pro, and it was intermittent.

Apple seem to not be sure as to exactly when it occurs, as their notes don’t specify.

So, might be lucky (like me), or might not be (like @tosbsas ).

Seems to be more fluid on my 13 Pro than 15.1(.1).
Only strange bug that I still have is that storage category size calculation takes up forever.

Music widget still isn’t working. Someone said it was fixed.

When you have the widget and additional albums show on the bottom if you click one of the albums it should bring you to that album.

It just brings you to whatever you were past playing.

Which bug
This one, from the developer release notes:

Core Media

Known Issues

  • Streaming in the Music app could result in higher CPU usage, causing faster battery drain in some scenarios. (84861891, 85326575)

Note that they don't elaborate on what "some scenarios" means, so we have no idea what conditions may trigger the bug — it may work fine for you, it may not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’ve had bad battery drain with RC 2. Siri is constantly running in the background and showing up at the top of battery usage for me even with “hey Siri” turned off.

You might want to go into your WiFi settings and turn off Private Wi-Fi Address for your home network. There is no privacy reason to use this feature on a network you own and control. This feature is per-network, so networks you use out in the world will still have their private addresses.

Then, update the MAC address for your phone to the (non-private) one that is listed there now.

Now you won't have to update it again, unless you reset network settings or delete and re-add the WiFi network on your phone, in which case you'll have to turn off Private Address again.

By the way, there's little to no reason to restrict MAC addresses these days. WPA2/3 security is more than good enough if you have a long and secure password, and it's trivial to get around MAC address security by cloning an existing MAC address on your network.

Note that Siri is, for all practical intents and purposes, the equivalent to Spotlight for iOS/iPadOS — it may be doing some indexing in the background from various apps that it can use as data sources and is getting stuck somewhere.

You may want to go through the app list in Settings -> Siri & Search and start turning off "Learn from this App" for apps and see if the behavior eventually stops.

Thanks. Yes I have deactivated Access Control on the router now as you say it's not necessary.

I’ll keep an eye on it. Thanks

Whow I am on 16.6 GB
Mine was reporting over 17 GB an hour ago — and is down to 7.21 GB right now without any action taken on my part. Because this category covers a wide range of OS-level functionality, including downloaded system and app update staging, application state caches, crash/diagnostic logging, and various other things, it shouldn't be surprising that it fluctuates substantially with regular use.

System data fluctuates anyway depending on the version of the betas that I have tried, it seems that neither apple is able to control this. from ios 15.1 to beta 4 of ios 15.2 it was always with a low storage use, and since then it almost always occupies 6Gb or more. all this with the same apps and use, only the version of the system changes. This section has been a mystery all your life, and a nonsense that in the middle of 2021 you can not delete the cache of the apps, as if it can be done on Android, and that everything is put together in a section that not even Apple knows how to control, because when it gets out of control, the only solution is to restore.
On the other hand, I deleted a video completely from my device, 600Mb, and instead of lowering the storage use, it went up almost 1Gb, because out of nowhere this section went up 1.5Gb. The calculations of Storage used is another section that the accounts do not leave anywhere.

So if I’m on my home network, is there any point to having Private Wi-Fi Address setting on, from my phones wifi settings? While we are on the subject. Just wondering if that’s a wasted setting under my own roof.

That’s what your saying right?
