Also close all apps, never rebooted device, any reason why you do this?

I close all my apps and go bang straight away.

Don’t forget MagSafe will take over once the lightning port is gone, people will lose their marbles if apple killed off iTunes (finder)

I’ll be one of them, since I backup to my Mac. 😳
Yeah I reboot to flush out memory and make sure everything is closed and stopped and there is plenty of memory to run the install without swapping out etc. Just seems to be a good practice to me.

The thing that Apple suggests as a troubleshooting measure is Recovery restore. The one I asked Craig about was IPSW update. They're different. And I don't think Apple would be profiting in anyway regardless of how a user updates. So hard to see a reason for him to lie when he could've just ignored to respond to my email.
Having said that, there could be plenty of other reasons why different users have different results with the same update on the same iPhone model. Every one has different apps installed which could theoretically be infinite configs. From what he said, the OS only checks for the iOS volume's integrity itself to see if it's been tampered with. And the checksum should match exactly.

Actually both.
I've been on the phone with Apple (12 ProMax) when they had me try that. Two times. One helped. The other time had to do a full restore.
Did the same with my Gen1 IPP12. Actually went through 4 of those devices. Quality sucked.

Definitely took a downgrade with this beta.

If on a Teams call, an incoming standard phone call will kill the APP, mute the Teams call, and kills the incoming call after a ring or two.

This thread is becoming more and more off topic and useless. Please let's use it for what it's purpose is.

Useless is a bit strong. It’s just what happens towards the end of a cycle. Fewer bugs, less to report, all gets done over a couple of pages. The community stays alive with some slight off topic subjects. Otherwise just silence, which is, well, on topic, but really boring.

You can if it helps, ignore the chatter boxes, reducing the noise. 🤷🏽

To do this, click on the persons name, select ignore. Done. It’s better than some of the features in iOS 15. 😆

I hope Apple listens to you.

I never thought to do that, either iOS or MacOS.

However, as soon as the installl/upgrade is complete then I do a (hard) reboot even though both devices will reboot during the install anyway,.

Just when I was all excited for Mask Face ID, they dropped the mask manidate here ? So I didn’t get to try it out much .. the little time I did use it worked well on my 13PM
The concept was good but Apple delivered way too late if you ask me. It seems that mask mandates are going away everywhere. Of course, this feature would still be quite useful for anyone who works in the healthcare industries around the world though.
