He’s blo**y amazing. Love all his videos. Just melts your heart and when you see them together… little and large. Him figuring out the world so excited at every step. Soooo worth that drive.

This ProMotion 2.0 is off the chain, still blown away by how smooth it is. ?

Is that actually a thing then? Or just what your branding a fixed Pro Motion?

Glad it’s working buddy. Can’t wait to get a ip14 and experience this step up.

Pulling ya leg with the 2.0 talk, definitely smoother though.

It’s working alright, smoother than my undies after washing them with fabric softer detergent. ??

You’re in for a treat this year, 120hz is off the hook, make sure you buy a pro model this year.

Having read what feels like a hundred identical posts about Promotion being the second coming, I agree, it is extreme.
I agree, ☝️ Sometimes, I feel like I'm reading the same exact post every day with the same information. It's like the same pattern, we need to put on a tracker on this thread 🤣. The only difference is the date and the time.

Thanks for the chuckle.

Weren’t you complaining that Reachability has been 60Hz before? It’s definitely 120Hz now. So it’s evidently not same.
Yes that has been fixed but I’m saying it’s not wow or over all better apps all feel the same I haven’t tried one app that now feels smoother and I can tell with promotion the only change I can honestly see is rechability

Wait till they update their apps.

Still not seeing what the big deal is on PM……. It’s an Apple marketing term. What’s so big about adaptive refresh rate?
I believe every phone other than the 13 Pro ran on a 60Hz display. Each user would have their own opinion on faster refresh rate on displays but I can tell you on my PC, I can see the difference between 144Hz and 60Hz. In the iphone's case, you don't want it running at the higher refresh all the time because it will cause additional battery drain over the slower 60Hz speed. That is why the refresh is adaptive.

Now the real question comes is if it is working properly, or still buggy. I don't think Apple has a tool to see what the screen is using in real time. So, only way to tell is to see a visual difference.

“Seeing the difference” and the difference being meaningful are not the same thing though. Maybe if you’re a gamer but not for most everyday use.

I will make one exception for those who seem to have a preternatural ability to see flicker at frame rates higher than 24 fps. I would imagine that that is pretty rare, however, but not zero.

My approach to the iPhone is that it is a miraculous device that we couldn’t even have dreamed up when I was a kid. I don’t get hung up on the hardware not being “perfect”.

Side note (in other words: not to this reply): if a poster lands in this thread and starts using words like “hubris” as was done they lose all sorts of cred as it’s obvious they don’t know what that word means.

For sure, this is why I stated that to each their own but I can say for certain that UI animations are more fluid. Not a major change but for those who can feel it, would be like a new device to some. Of course, not everyone can see the difference and that is just how it is.
