Does anyone know if there's a way to stop your iPhone from starting to play from the Music app when you first put in your AirPods after hours of not using them?

How are you stopping the music when you are done listening? I have found that if I pause the music first, then remove the airpods, I won't see it restarting automatically when first putting them back in my ears. If I pull the airpods before pausing the music, it will often times resume music playback automatically.

Love this feature. ?

I tried a 13 pro for awhile and struggled to see the increased refresh rate. Didn’t seem any smoother. Returned it for a 13 and seemed the same to me, really no diff from my vantage point. Don’t game so maybe if I did I’d notice something. For non gamers the 120 refresh is being overhyped. Just my opinion.

I can definitely see the difference even when scrolling in safari, used a iPhone 12 Pro Max after a month, saw the difference straight away, screen had a lot of judder when scrolling.

Some people eyes are more sensitive than others when it comes to 120hz.

Definitely in the eyes of the beholder. I don’t see any stuttering in safari at all using a 13. I used the pro for a couple of weeks and honestly I really wanted to see increased benefit but never did. I have older 👀 than most tho. Be interesting to hear from the older crowd if they can tell a difference.

Agree, everyone does see it differently.

Got a few non techy people in the family who have iPhone 11/12 pros, gave them my phone, told them to scroll through safari and other apps on both phones at the same time, didn’t mention anything about 120hz, first words that came out of their mouths was wow, why is your screen so smooth when scrolling?

They asked me if it was a setting that needs to be turned on in their phones lol.

Also plenty of people out there who can’t see a difference when it comes to 120hz.

For me, I can’t purchase another apple device, if it doesn’t have ProMotion, it’s something that should be on all apple devices, considering how much they charge for them.

With 120Hz you’re still able to read the text when scrolling on text while it’ll be extremely blurry with 60Hz. For me, I can definitely see a huge diff between my brother’s 12 and my 13 Pro. But I’ve seen plenty of people on MR mention they haven’t noticed any diff either. Seems puzzling to me but at the same time I know we all perceive the same color differently so who knows what the science is behind this.

Still not seeing what the big deal is on PM……. It’s an Apple marketing term. What’s so big about adaptive refresh rate?

I don’t see it on my 14 inch MacBook Pro and never noticed it on my old iPad Pro either. Switched to an iPad Air 4 and I have not noticed a change whatsoever.

Oh and the first think I turn ON when I get a new iPhone / iPad is reduced motion. All the zoom in and zoom out effects when flipping / closing apps literally makes me want to vomit

I guess not everyone reads while scrolling.

Do any of you use fitness+? I have realized that it does not load the different types of training, that is, I only see the ones that appear on the cover. If I want to filter one of HIT or CORE, I get their section, but only with the explanation, without training or the option to filter. in previous betas it worked, but in this RC after restoring I just realized that it didn't, and I don't know if it's because something about the clock was restored wrong, or it's that the app in this version broke, because after updating for OTA I couldn't test.

Fitness app is working normally on my on my iPhone 13 PM. Filters work. Training videos appear and play as expected.

Not trying to be a smart a$$ but what do you mean blurry text while scrolling on 60Hz? Not sure I understand as I’m not seeing that at all. If I scroll fast then yeah, maybe, but I can’t read a fast scroll anyway so seems a moot point.
Overall I think each successive beta up to the RC improved scrolling, smoothness and just about everything else.

Try scrolling text on a 13 Pro and a non-Pro next to each other. Up to a certain speed, you’d still be able to see the text clearly at 120Hz while it’s not as clear on the other. But again, if you still can’t notice any diff between the two then that’s probably how you perceive things. Some people are just more sensitive to movement than others. Kinda like how PWM gives a headache to some but not others.

I was absolutely serious. That use case didn’t seem particularly common hence would explain why it’s more obvious to some and not so much to others.
Besides, I am simply replying to what you present here.

That was mentioned as a test to spot the differences. It’s one of the scenarios the improvement is more evident.

Surprised not to see comments on here regarding the messed up (over processed ?) camera on the 13/pro now. Was hoping the 15.4 may address this. Although the 13 lets in more light with less noise etc etc my older 11 pro often gave a better and more reliable image when compared sadly.

There is a massive thread in the iPhone forum regarding this issue. ?

I believe that issues have come up on the 13 on this site in the past. From what I remember, the issues were supposedly with the stock app itself. Have you tried a 3rd party camera app just to see if you get better results?

Yes compared with 3rd party apps as well. I hope it does or even can? get addressed before long. Video however seems good although didn’t spend as much time comparing this.
