It eventually fills the entire device until it craps out and you have to nuke your phone. I just had it happen today on my 13. I talked to Apple about it and there looking into it but meantime had me nuke and restore. Here’s my storage right before it went sideways:

Ahh, I got curious and you had me look at mine. ☹️

They don’t care as long as the money keeps flowing in. I remember when iOS 14 launched nearly EVERYONE had that keyboard bug in iMessages where it wouldn’t respond for a few seconds when first opening the app. People have short memory spans but this is the new apple now. People don’t really seem to care anymore about quality. But if instagram is down you’d think the apocalypse is upon us. Most peoples phones are nothing more than $1000 texting/social media devices.
Quality control in my experience sucks as well. After getting my 3rd replacement 13 my data still drops randomly requiring an airplane toggle. When it's sitting idle I never know if it's connected to the internet at that time or not. I am missing Whatsapp messages due to idle phone/no data. Frustrating to the point of driving me back to my standby pixel. At least it is fully functional. I've got better things to do than keep sending back phones wondering when the next one will be my $800 refirb.
Keep hoping the next update fixes it.

I’m telling you - there’s a serious bug in iOS 15.4! And it’s not gonna fix itself. I was so frustrated on the phone with apple today because they kept trying to talk about photos and media and stuff and I had to keep explaining that System Data is NOT MY STUFF.

Anyway, eventually your phone will run out of space and crap out like mine did today. I restored, but now it’s already starting to fill up again. They need a dot dot release to fix this.

Anyone else seems like it takes forever to upload photos to iCloud whether on LTE or 5G? It never used to hang before. For one 2MB pic it takes like 10 mins. Or it just doesn’t countdown like stays at 14 but never moves. Of course I’ll share what I’m uploading. They upload to Mac rumors faster.

I agree with you. You are 100% right. That system data is a joke. There is a reason Apple is pushing out for 512GB and 1TB models. Hopefully, 1.02TB is enough 🙈

This has been happening way before iOS 15.

Try doing what these guys said, might help.

That's how it starts and mine, to fill up more and more, with apple garbage, because it is impossible that recently restored, and almost without use, it shot in an alarming way. and this has been happening since iOS 14, but instead of filling up in an uncontrolled way, it directly corrupted the partition and always showed 0Kb. In ios 15, filling System Data has happened to me almost since beta 1, few builds have been able to contain this. The worst thing is that before you restored and this was solved for a while, but now it is not, which indicates that something must be wrong there.

and the weird bugs don't just happen on ios, watchOS also has the same problem, apart from one that randomly starts measuring blood oxygen every 20 minutes and that drains the battery fast. as soon as he does 40 measurements one day, like 7 another, I don't see it as normal.

It does not make any sense why some are experiencing the extremely high System Data and others are not having that issue. When I did have System Dara at 37GB, I did an encrypted wired backup to my Mac computer. I then did a Recovery Mode Restore followed by restore from backup. Now the System Data does not seem to rise about 6GB.

Why is this affecting only some users. That part is a head scratcher.

Not sure if this is a bug or not but it feels like they changed scrolling behavior to have what feels like more gravity. Like flicking your finger doesn’t go as far as it used to and stops a lot faster. It’s very annoying and makes the system just feel sluggish when trying to scroll around. It’s like this on iPad as well. Compared to the watch for example scrolling is WAY faster with even a small swipe.

Also that annoying bug is back on iPhone where it’s not registering swiping up to go home properly. Sometimes it goes to the app switcher when I’m trying to go home and goes home when I’m trying to get into the app switcher.

This update just feels slow. Slow scrolling. Slow swiping. Everything felt better before on 15.3.

And no I’m not restoring my phone. These are apples f-ups to fix. Not mine.

How is your battery life on iPhone 13 and iPhone 11? I have both at home, I was able to do 2 days using them not a lot, now a day and a half maximum.

Not seeing this on my 13 pro max & M1 iPad Pro.

Everything just glides. ?

Smoother than a box of chocolates.

Touch registration is still an issue I am having with 15.4 on my 13 Pro Max. In Safari, when I select an object I can see it highlight the object but it does not always take action on the object. I need to do it a second time then it takes action. I am also still encountering ghost touch issue as well.

Copying a paragraph of text is buggy as 🤬

Especially in safari, soon as I try to select a paragraph, the whole page goes back to the top. 🙄🤦‍♂️
