Actually, working for 99% of users is actually really good.

I’m an admitted fanboy, but if it fails for one user, I’m okay with that.
Tell that to the 1% of bank users whose accounts have been emptied by a bug in the bank's software. 99% success in a walled-garden is terrible. 1% of a billion is 10 million. This is not a good result… for anyone.

Edit: typo

Weak in maths are we? 1% of a billion is 10 million.

First, 1% of 1 billion is 10 million.
Second, you're comparing apples to oranges (no pun intended). A bank's software performs a tiny fraction of the functionality of a modern day smartphone. So it's not justified.
Third, if I had a million dollars how would I feel if I lost 10k? That would be a better analogy. I wouldn't lose my sleep over it as I can make it back in a week without even trying.

Hmmm, iMessage starting to lag, when trying to insert a photo directly from the photos app. 🫤

FIXED, force restart done the trick.

Wait, I thought we were talking about Apple software, not a bank?

Oh…I guess 1% of iOS users having some insignificant bug wasn’t dramatic enough for you, so you had to make up some fake example with a bank app?

Or even 1% of users having multiple bugs affecting them?

And then assuming every single person in that 1% even knows that it is there?

What in reality is the percent of this 10 million actually being “affected” by it? Knowing it is even there? Seeing it every time they use the phone?

Now your into the .000001% range most likely.

btw...maybe others have another example, but the last "significant" bug I am aware of that personally affected me as well as every single user, was one that REALLY only affected users of Apple Music and also used it on CarPlay....from nearly a year ago exactly?

Fix issued within 24 hours (server side update to Apple Music). Even then, I wonder how many actual Apple users were affected? I'm sure it was significant, but anyone WAY smarter than me at math want to take a guess?

Apple users > who updated to latest ios (14.?) > who also use Apple Music > who use Apple Music in CarPlay > who used it within that day

You mean that the screen refreshing at only 119hz rather than 120hz is not a meaningful or impactful bug? Or that getting only 96 hours of effective standby time is not evidence of Apple’s continuing decline into oblivion? Or that a 1 millisecond lag in screen refresh following a tab switch in Safari does not violate the social compact Apple has with its customers to provide utterly perfect products?

You cad!

I'm still upset about the app name being a few pixels off of center....their design standards are in the garbage!!!

iOS 15.4 has, near as damn it, bricked my iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Constant freezes for 30 seconds + in Safari, iMessage, Instagram and other apps. This is getting so frustrating that I'm not really in a position to determine which apps have the freezes and which don't.

I've never had to force-restart my iPhone before. Now I'm having to do so multiple times a day.

Incredibly frustrating.

Have you tried reinstalling in itunes or finder and not using a backup just to see? I am thinking either a bad upgrade, or something related to your config. Not having any issues on my end.

Do you mean back up the phone, wipe the phone, do a clean install of iOS 15.4 without restoring the backup... then see if I'm having the same performance issues?

I am sorry, yes, lol.

1. Backup phone first(Preferably to a PC or a Mac)
2. Use a computer and restore to 15.4(Don't restore backup)
3. See if issue exists. If it does, then restore your backup. If it is fixed, then something with your backup is messed up

Thank you.

This might seem really nitpicky since everything else has seemed to work so well, but when replying from the lock screen on 15.4 the stutter is really noticeable.

That is the challenge... significant bug that affects all users.

It is more like a basic instability in the OS itself that leads to a myriad of bugs based on a users usage and installs. That itself tells me that Apple really needs to take an upgrade cycle and streamline / polish-up the OS itself. There are days with iOS/iPadOS I feel like I am back in Vista days.

Green/yellow tint is back. ?‍♂️

When swiping up to access my apps in the background, when selecting a previous app, it'll have a green/yellow tint to it for a few seconds before going away.

Happening in dark mode, not all the time, definitely a software issue, wasn't happening before.

FFS apple get your crap together. ?‍♂️

That’s the same crap that’s happening to me. ?

Ran into another bug before, couldn’t select text, it would only select the first word.

Something is definitely broken with cut, copy and paste. ?
You mean this one.

Yep, nailed it. ??
I have had the text marking issue since maybe 15.1 or 15.2, so it is not a new issue for me. The issue where I am only able to mark a word, is the first time I have encountered it. So I am unsure of what version of iOS that might have been introduced it.

I have tried a few things to see if it is related to anytime I have installed or something is corrupted. But seeing as others have the exact same issue, I dob't think I am going to bother diagnosing the issue any further right now. Something interesting, yesterday I sent an e-mail to Apple about the issue in iOS Safari for marking text, I included a video in the e-mail. I got a call back from Apple about 1 hour later. I demonstrated to the person, that called me, the issue, we even did a screen share. One of the times I was demo'ing the issue, the issue would not happen. They ended up taking some diagnostic logs and submitted it directly to engineering.

Yesterday, I also found a nice reproducible bug in macOS Numbers. It was one of the bugs that you would not happen upon normally. I figured I was on a roll and put together a small subset data Numbers spread that demonstrated the issue. I fired off another e-mail to Apple and attached the Numbers spreadsheet to the e-mail. I don't think I will be getting a phone call back on that issue because the data I submitted clearly shows how to reproduce the issue with the smallest subset of data.
