Whenever I ask Siri on my HomePods for the details of the currently playing track, it always give details of one of the previous ones. I then have to ask again to get the correct details. This started with 15.4 and happens on all of my HomePods. This is using Apple Music. Anyone else? Ta.

Did and ipsw install on both of my devices (13PM was originally OTA) and have to agree that the claims that @Pearsey made regarding OTA vs IPSW are apparently correct. I have seen a decrease on the 13PM in the number of b1 bugs.

Issues I am seeing at this point:
IPP11 - RAM Management is draconian. Apps are being killed in the App Manager far to quickly and apps that use large thumbnails (like Safari Google Images, YouTube) the thumbnails come up blank or load slow - cleaning app manager fixes slow/no load.
IPP11 - It is consuming battery fast. I am getting 4-6 hours SOT at best.
13PM - Having issues holding a WiFi signal. Trying a couple of suggestions from folks here but no joy so far.
13PM - Notifications are not always showing up and even less are showing on the attached AW (not beta). Also seeing Notification windows overlap each other
13PM - AirPods Pro even if in use by other devices my 13PM will hijack them.

Overall not a bad beta on either device.

So, do you recommend iPad OS 15.4.1 over iPad OS 15.5 on an iPad?? I’m still on iPad OS 15.3 with good battery life on my 2018 11” iPP

Yes. Stick with 15.4.1 unless you are having issues. 15.5b1 is a bit smoother in some areas but I would hold off for now until they tweak it a bit more.

I am actually on 15.3, that's why I'm asking if it's worth updating to 15.4.1 or wait for 15.5

Yeah, I want to do that as well, but I want to be sure iPad OS 15.4.1 doesn’t have battery life issues
Unless you have a specific issue 15.4.1 has been outstanding on our 4 devices as far as battery life. On my 13 Pro Max, which does have a bigger battery than smaller models, I normally don’t even bother to connect it to a charger when using Apple Maps for navigation on trips around my area. And with that and extensive usage during the day I don’t know that I’ve ever been below 50% battery at the end of the day when going to bed and connecting the phone to a charger.

Ok so, excuse me if I asked this before but, the bug related with Apple Music background activity that drained the battery, was solved in 15.4.1? Is solved in 15.5 b1? Thank you

Hard to say. Apple did publicly acknowledge a bug affecting battery performance has in fact been fixed in iOS 15.4.1. With that said, watching reviews show that the bug may still be present.

I believe that the way that the app works is why it shows as "Background" since most of the time, the user either has the app not in view, or the device locked.

With all of that, I have not noticed an issue so far but the bug was not major on my end with 15.2/15.3.

Tried turning off WiFI Assist and it had no apparent affect. Well other than losing my wifi walking to the mailbox :)
Thanks for the suggestion though.
Turned it back on.
There's an additional setting for 5G-capable iPhones and iPads under Settings -> Cellular Data -> Cellular Data Options named Allow More Data on 5G that, when enabled, may cause the device to prefer 5G over WiFi if it thinks that would result in a better data connection — you might try turning that off if frequent switching between 5G and WiFi is what might be causing your issues.

I have that set to "Standard".
As I have unlimited data probably should set it to allow more data on 5g.

Do y’all have some system location services disabled for better battery life?
Just the three options under System Services > Product Improvement. Most everything else has location enabled, but nothing in the app list is set to ‘Always’; they’re either set to ‘While Using the App (or Widgets)’ or, occasionally, ‘Never.’ I think the weather app/widget was pretty constantly accessing location services when set to ‘Always’ (so that I’d receive background precipitation notifications; while the feature is nice battery life did seem to improve after disabling it).

I don’t. But I heard it usually helps out with extending the battery life but I’m not a big fan of turning off the location services.

At the end of the day the battery is there to be used not conserved. Unless something is abnormally using battery I leave it on. There are no prizes awarded for the person with the most battery left at night.

I have almost nothing turned off. The weather apps are set to always as is another app that provides locations and emergency monitoring while driving for my wife and myself. As far as system services I don’t think anything is turned off. Why would I pay for an expensive phone just to turn things off??‍♂️ Fortunately battery life is extremely good. Now if I were still using an iPhone 5 or 6 with the original batteries I might turn a few things off but more likely just understand that I’ll have to connect to a charger more than once a day.

My iPad Pro 4th Gen is completely broken with this release! Out of my most used apps only procreate seems to function normally, but even that had issues! Other apps like Safari, Chrome, Instagram, Tapatalk all hang on opening.

As I posted in this thread a few times, I have been having issues with WiFi on my 13 ProMax.
I recently did the ipsw upgrade to my IPP11 G2. Started having the same issues.
Tried a number of things.

A service tech just left my place taking a good look at the Wi-Fi setup (Spectrum WiFi 6 Router SAX1V1K).
Besides my iPhone 13 ProMax and iPad Pro 11 G2, I also have two TCL Google tvs, OnePlus 9 Pro, Z Flip 3, iPhone 11, MacBook Pro, Thinkpad X280 x2, Dell Chromebook, Google Echo, Blink Home Security System, and a Williams Weather Station.

I have no issue with anything except the 13PM and IPP11.

Turns out it is the Private WiFi Address under WiFi.
Turn it off for both of these devices and not only are they faster loading, but so far not a hiccup from either device.

Normally I have this off. Apparently during the install it was turned on. One of the many things to check I missed.

Thanks to all who offered helpful suggestions. I’ll touch back after the weekend and let all know if I have any further issues.

I believe I’ve read a few posts mentioning this, and there is certainly no reason to have it enabled when at home but I do believe it’s the default setting. Mine has been enabled from the get-go on both my phone and ipad on my home WiFi network with no discernible issue. I’ve not turned it off simply because there has been no issue and I don’t want to stir the pot. But I’ll keep it in mind if something should develop. If I were traveling and connect to an outside network I would definitely have it enabled.
