Why are you all wasting your time doing this, just to temporarily clear down the storage data usage? It'll come back to where it was before in a few days.
The issue for some is that the System Data storage size can be high and affect some adversely. In my case, I was seeing the System Data at 37 GB and it stayed that way, would not go down. Nothing I tried would reduce it until I did a clean install and it stayed low after the clean install. Why give up storage for a OS bug. And it is a OS bug if the System Data was Hugh before a clean and low after clean install and stayed that way.

Yes, System Data will fluctuate depending what resources the OS might need. The issue is not that it fluctuates but that it is stuck using a large amount of space and not reducing down. Even a forced restart won’t fix it.

Anyone else see this odd behavior in Control Center relating to Home Controls. I mentioned this before but was unable to capture it happening. It seems to happen after a forced restart.

Great case for why we try these things out and share for people to try. Hoping they get results. @adrianlondon

Your keyboard would be still be screwed if we didn’t ?

I want to add that it is also trying to understand why your phone maybe acting a certain way. The real world example is a person who is getting a low storage warning and they see the System Data consuming a large amount of space and can’t figure out how to recover the space. This can affect things like doing an iOS update, there isn’t enough space to do the update. I have seen people report that the System Data is consuming more then 100 GB. These are cases to report to Apple for them to fix.

Tried reporting straight to Craig F at Apple, he was interested at first, then when he offered a fix, he was never seen again. ??

You do't expect him to become your pen pal, do you. 😂

😆😂 Noooooo 😢.
just respond when he sets you a task would be nice.
oh well, gave it a shot.

Phones is on steroids by the way after that wipe and encrypted restore. Very responsive. feels great. proper spring clean.

I have also reported 3 separate issues to Craig F. Within an hour someone from Apple called me to gather data to send to engineering. I guess there will be a fourth instance to report to Apple for the Home Controls in Control Center.

According to Apple, the encrypted backups include saved passwords, wifi settings, health data, web and call history - i.e. sensitive data. Unencrypted do not.

Despite that claim, you still may have to re-enter saved passwords, reauthorize security settings, and run into two-factor authorization re-authorization (Amazon in Safari ....).

It is better than having to reenter all the stuff though!

I’m glad it’s not just me. This drives me crazy. If I type “character”, I don’t want “Charmaine” or “Charlie”. If this was an intentional algorithmic adjustment, it’s very short sighted. The odds that they can predict a given proper name is infinitesimal. Don’t try.

Every time I enter carry or carries I get Carrie or Carrie's.

It would depend on your WiFi connection and/or your computer’s ability. An iCloud restore has always been very fast on my home WiFi. But I only have to do it when I get a new device. Backups to my computer, which I do about once every week or less, are just an “in case” action. An iCloud backup is done automatically every night so will always have the latest data compared to my computer backups. And they are automatically encrypted so all data is restored.

For me an iCloud restore is generally quick except:
1. it seems to take forever for all the apps to download
2. some of my data cannot be backed up to the iCloud (work)

A couple of things have started showing up after I did the ipsw on my 13 ProMax.
Keep in mind that overall it is running smoother after the "refresh" and overall errors that impact my daily use are down.

Here are a couple of the latest.

1. Seeing a number of SiriSearchFeedback errors in Privacy > Data. These are all Error 313 (something went wrong). I have not used Siri since the update. Maybe she feels neglected?
2. I open my stock Calendar to a blank screen. If I kill the app in App Manager then relaunch it works fine. Happened 3x so far today. My Exchange and iCloud calendar are mapped to this app.

I've noticed cellular connection on my 13PM stays on regular 5G more on this beta instead of 5GUW.
I agree. After using the phone all day I have seen the same behavior. I also found another issue, you can’t change Siri voice in this beta. I have always used voice 1 and I noticed the somehow Siri is now a male voice. When I tried to change it, it just stays on downloading but never does anything.
