update to ios 15.5 with ipsw, and it seems to me a worse version than ios 15.4.1.
the modem has worse reception than 15.4.1, which can translate into higher battery consumption by forcing the phone more. For example, on the first floor of my house, I had always had 3 stable lines, with 15.5 I have two, and it goes down to one, unstable for worse.
on the other hand, booting is about 5-7 seconds slower. in 15.4.1, with a 1 second press on the boot button it was enough to start the phone, now I need between 5 and 7 for it to boot. what i said in the speculation thread, apple would break something to make sense of a possible ios 15.6, and here i experience two reasons for it. Unless the public release is a newer build that fixes everything, or at least the modem issue, which is a potentially important problem.

You don’t need to keep pressing the side button to start your iPhone. It might take a few seconds for the Apple logo to appear but you can let go after clicking once.
And your reasoning for an update being something deliberately broken doesn’t make sense at all. More work requires more money and you’re not being charged extra for any updates. I don’t think you comprehend how complex OS’ are these days and how software development works. Chances are anytime you’re adding to the code you might introduce a bug somewhere else as there are features like Siri that run on multiple layers and not as a standalone program. Your frustration is reasonable but your expectations aren’t inline with reality.

EDIT: Weirdly enough I’ve had more problems with IPSW updates than OTAs during the 15.4 beta cycle. More overnight battery drain for one. So I’m sticking to OTAs for now.

13 ProMax
OTA from B4

Issues at Install
1. Refused to acknowledge AirPods Pro were in ear. Forget and reinstall APP fixed
2. Animations seem slower - perception?
3. Have run into a couple of apps that are now broken - updates likely needed

So far so good - crossing fingers.

Another interesting thing: the feedback app is still present. Doesn’t it usually disappear on an RC?

And now it is gone. Where I saw it was in a Siri suggestion widget. Perhaps that was a carryover from my phone usage before upgrading to 15.5 RC.

Those of you who have seen the feedback app in the release candidate, did you see it in a Siri suggestion widget as well?

You should definitely report this. 😆😂

How do yall be installing and be having so many issues?
I just want to understand. I have had nearly no problems like everyone else have.

Each phone model has a different version of the same build. So bugs can exists on an IP12 that a 13 or 13 Pro Max might not have.

And this forum is also a place to share the bugs and help each other in situations.

I still have this useless tab in the background of the tab Switcher in Safari while it’s being marked as fixed in the feedback app since months. Apple quality control does only have useless amateurs

I’ve just noticed that the final release has been a build or two higher sometimes.
I'm not 100% sure but it seems to me that it happens when Apple is launching new devices a major new feature. When they don't have that like in 15.5, then it seems RC is the same as public. Either way, your choice and just trying to give some info as you seem like you want to update now.
