I will also stay on the upcoming iOS 15.7 at least until 16.1, or maybe even further versions like .2; .3 or even .4
simply because I hear a lot of people complying about battery life and to be honest I don't see any huge changes except lockscreen that make me want to update to the next version of iOS.
Same here and even the new lock screen is not something I really like. I installed the beta on my old XS Max and I found it more complicated to set new wallpapers (complicated in a way of needing more steps) for no real reasons. Plus, adjusting new wallpapers is a pain on iOS 16 because you can't adjust the image with one finger, it have to be with 2 fingers so its harder to make micro-adjustments.

And like you said, other than that, there's nothing really different or new that make me wand/need the new major version. iOS 15 works flawlessly on my 13 Pro Max with awesome battery life so I'll definitively stay on iOS 15 as long as I can if Apple allow me to still update my phone to future iOS 15 releases.

I can’t update any apps on 2 iPads. I get stuck in the apple services terms and conditions have changed loop. Every time I hit agree it says an error has occurred and to please try again later.

I was checking my iPad Pro 11 and 13PM to see if I will get the 16 but showing 15.7 and 16 in my 13PM and only 15.7 in my iPad. I installed this instead on both. I will install 16 after at least a couple of week so that I can check the forum the feedback on 16

I am getting Call Failed since updating to 15.7 (can to make phone calls). I have dual SIMs with both SIMs occupied, I have been through troubleshooting and reset my network settings but no joy. Am about to call Apple again. Both my wife and I have the iPhone 12 Pro. Her update was successful, only difference is that I use both SIMs...

I have an e-sim and a standard sim from another country. They both work fine on my iPhone 12 mini.

It seems like there is no way to perform clean install of 15.7? 15.7 only available through OTA? Itunes only showing iOS16 as an update.

Update from 15.4.1. So far so good. Battery usage is still good (flat line overnight, no heat). Geekbench is slightly better on Metal score (7732) compared to previous 15.x (around 7200-7500) - iPhone 11. Tested on iPad Pro M1 11” with similar impression.

Yes, I tried also. I really would like Apple to do this right, give us the older version updates and let us request to ”upgrade” to the next version when the bugs are worked out. Some of us still do clean installs only via iTunes, (or computer), as we encounter less issues. Most people that report issues do OTA updates.

After iOS 15.7 update [ iPhone 7 ] no longer able to check for updates to Series 6 watch. Tried re-booting both devices, no luck. Anyone run into this same issue?

I also got error when trying restoring in iTunes in the ordinary way, but I managed to do a fresh 15.7 install with iTunes, with ipsw downloaded here
How trustable are these links? I dare not simply download any of these IPSW files which not prompted by itunes by apple official tbh.

But how? Apple is not giving it out at iTunes and how ppl manage to get these links. Hmm...

I guess you are not quite aware of the jailbreak community around, folks mess around with the security features of Apple implemented to obtain low level privilege to do whatever they want with the device (which Apple called it "temper" the system thus a security threat), obtaining the official firmware (the ipsw files) is just one of the tiny part, and probably one of the easiest part of the work.
Even if you are interested about jailbreak, the iTunes IPSW restore method is still useful for you to try out new version of iOS when it is freshly released, and you can fall back to the previous version if it turns out do not work out for you, provided that the window is not "closed" yet (i.e. the previous build is still signed which Apple typically pull the plug a week or two after the new one is out).

Well yea never jailbreak or anything. I heard of ipsw.me too but never dare to download anything from there also.

Always curious how ppl get these links and worry it has malware. Anyway 15.7 is not available at ipsw.me signed file though.

Lastly, would like to ask, i've updated to 15.7 this morning through OTA, would it still consider clean install by downloading the 15.7 files using the link and use the 'hold alt/option button and click restore iphone' method in iTunes?

OTA means that is an "update" rather than "restore", which are completely different. You can find tons of details looking up in google, but long story short, update retain pretty much everything, and unexpected behavior (which we call "bugs") could happen if some of the settings (could be apps, or iOS itself) in previous iOS version not compatible with the updated one, so some folks may do a restore (clean install) just to be sure, or if they actually experienced something (such as battery drain).

Yeah, I’ve been trying to find the iOS 15.7 IPSW, not only on ipsw.me, but trying to connect directly to Apple’s servers with a terminal command, and I haven’t been able to find iOS 15.7 IPSW.

So, what I’m planning to do, is do a clean install of iOS 15.6.1 and probably staying there forever. Do you know if iOS 15.7 brings major important fixes to bugs and security? Is really so risky to stay on iOS 15.6.1? Thank you.

Yeah, in the case the 15.7 update is so important, I think I would consider performing an OTA right after the clean install of 15.6.1, but honestly I am not sure.

If you are talking about the IPSW of 15.7 for iPhone 8, then it is here

Personally I didnt experience any bug with neither 15.6.1 nor 15.7, but as always YMMV. I would say, why don't give 15.7 a shot when 15.6.1 is still being signed? You can fall back to 15.6.1 now if you got anything nasty with 15.7
