fwiw, 15.6.1 is by far the best battery performance I've experienced since early 14. I probably won't upgrade to 15.7. Just wish I could get rid of the big red nag.
fwiw2: I updated to 15.7, and it's behaving just as well as 15.6.1. Battery usage is back to excellent, which has been a roller coaster ride through the whole of 15.x, and it's nice and snappy. All in all, for a 5 year-old phone at 91% battery health, can't complain at the result, despite the rocky road.
 
That means… now there is no iOS/iPadOS 15 IPSW signed to restore any iOS device. You have to use 16.1, which some say is not the best, at least battery wise.

Phew, fortunately I managed to install 15.7 in all my devices a week ago. This version is running very stable.
